Yeah, I have to agree with you here - It appears to me that one of the MAIN uses of the FFML is for rapid fic development from fic posts / C&C so that the stories can be perfected before they are submitted to RAAC and archived.
Creating a moderated newsgroup in place of the FFML would completely defeat the point of it.
Wow, there's a fun job. Read everything to go over the ML before anyone
else does. Yay. Although, to give it credit, I could see it as a rather
useful idea, especially if *I* was a moderator. "Hmm...I don't like this
guy, let's not allow anything he posts to hit the newsgroup.
As an ex BBS/FidoNet user I've allways prefered post moderation ("stop this thread now.") to pre-moderation (moderator has total control of all posts, and as a result all posts are subject to their views / prejudices)
