it's my understanding that alt. groups can't be moderated?
wouldn't we be flooded with porn ads?
Also, email is what allows more people access to the ffml. go to
a newsgroup and that will cut into our user base quite a bit.

The fanfics never were a problem and never will be, neither will the
C&C. the problem is the million messages asking about the exact
size of ryoko's breasts, the fic "ideas", the "challenges" (people
should just challenge themselves to write a fic ^_^), and so on.
Yeah, every now and then a long fic is posted, and every now and
then a fic generates plenty of discussion..but, come on, even the
most epic fics back in the day did not generate enough noise by them-
selves to flood anyone's box. On the other hand, sig-wars and
passion-spice..ugh.. :)
