And finally, please, please, please, back up your fics to floppy disk after
every revision! It's easy to do and there's no reason for disasters like
this to happen when it's so easy to back up.

Or even better, upload 'em to your website - not only will you give
obnoxious fans the ability to preread the early versions; the server is
somewhat less likely to get bad sectors than the disks.

(A floppy disk used for backup purposes is about 99% likely to have
acquired a serious case of bad sectors within a week, IME)
