Due to a motherboard disaster...

*sniff*

My 2.1 Gb HD is now unreacheable...

*snuff*

Although, the data is still there...

*sniff*

The Boot Record seems to have been destroyed, and since...

*snuff*

it's in FAT32 format....I can't bloody get anything to recognize it...

Okay, Before you do anything to the HD, try this... with the HD back in
your computer, use a boot disk to boot up. The boot disk must have the
FDISK command on it. If you don't have one, ask a fellow computer user to
help you make one.

After booting up your computer using the boot disk, at the A:\ prompt type:

FDISK /MBR

This will attempt to restore the Master Boot Record on your 2.1 GB HD.

If this works, and you can see the data on the 2.1 GB HD, back up your fics
to floppies IMMEDIATELY! And then run scandisk to see if the HD is okay
otherwise.

If it doesn't work, take the drive to a computer service outlet to see if
they can recover the data. If the fics are important to you, then it's
worth an hour or two labour charge.

And finally, please, please, please, back up your fics to floppy disk after
every revision! It's easy to do and there's no reason for disasters like
this to happen when it's so easy to back up.
