Personally, if written right, this could be a pretty good crossover.  However,
Warhammer 40K doesn't lend itself to any good crossovers since there aren't
any heroic characters available (it's a miniature wargame.)  This does lend
itself to a decent crossover in that the author could just make up WH40K
characters, or just have the Tyrannids invade the Macross universe. (Tyrannids
vs. Invids.  Who would win?)

And to think that David Hasslehoff is starring in a TV version of Nick Fury:
Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.  (Tonight [5/26/98] on TNT)  Not very good casting,
IMHO.

The Knight Rider 2000 movie did have some cyberpunkish aspects, but nowhere
near the level of BGC.
