If Ukyou's really male, there's no reason for him, IMO, to go chasing
after Ranma at all. He might swear revenge on *Genma*, who is more than

But I doubt it - Ukyo swore revenge on Ranma not because of the theft,
but because she became the object of ridicule, being a girl whose
fiancee ran away.
Or...
Ukyou thinks Ranma's a girl and falls in love with 'her', and after the
abandonment, he devotes his time to honing his skills to win back his
Ranma-chan. Eventually, he learns that they're heading to China. He
pursues them, in an attempt to marry Ranma and have his revenge on Genma,
but misses them by a day. However, he falls in the Nyanniichuan...
When Ukyou learns that Ranma's really a guy, he loves him enough to give
up 'his' masculinity. I'm pretty sure that Ukyou doesn't get hit with hot
water that often, since she's not cursed in the manga series. So, it
wouldn't be revealed too easily.
This interpretation would hold the advantage of allowing the author to use
the events of the original series until he wishes Ukyou's curse to be
revealed.
Now, what I'm more concerned with is what the implications are of Ukyou's
betrothal to Ranma. After all, if Ranma finds out the truth, will he be
revolted, honored that 'she' loves him that much, or what? How does
everyone else react? After all, I assume that this will be the main focus
of whoever is writing this. I would, except that I can't think of a
single long term implication worth writing about.

The sardines weren't worth the trouble. A few more shots, then
Ryoga-san would overheat and explode. Ducking around a corner,
I managed to lose him as I entered the ramshackle residence of
my Anime supplier.
One look at his face and I knew that I was betrayed. "Tell me."
I insisted. He refused, so I slammed him against the wall.
"Last chance. Where can Ranma-Ranma find good fanfics?"
"Try Jason Liao." he whispered, before he slumped to the floor.
I heard the sounds of a door splintering as I left through the
window, one step ahead of Tendo Heavy Industries...
