  Actually, there was an arrest on child porn charges of a man who used a
morphing program to convert images of an adult nude female into a child.
Although this particular individual used the face of a real child, the
prosecutors talked as though it would be child porn even if the image was
completely artificial.  G.L. Sandborn may not be as alarmist as he hopes.

  The justification for exempting child porn photographs from First
Amendment protection is that children were victimized to produce it.  The
same claim can't be made for text. 

Which isn't to mention that we already ARE breaking laws in America by
writing and circulating
FanFiction, which qualify's as '. . .some kind of law.'

If we are committing copyright violation on the FFML, it is at worst a
civil charge since noone is doing it for profit or on a large scale.  Child
porn is a felony.  Big difference.

Anyone familiar with SoftCel, of ADV? My first from them was a -very-
tasteful 'End Of Summer'
which featured children, which by definition means under 18 in US,
engaging in consensual sex.
This has been published on a large scale and ADV wasn't attacked.

  I fear that it is only because anime has escaped notice of the various
"family protection" groups.  As the number of fans grow, we may not be so
lucky.  Remember what happened to D&D.  Also, there are some groups that
will probably try to portray Disney as supporting child porn by linking
Disney to H-anime once they realize that H-anime and Miyazaki films are
both Japanese animation.

TWO:, if its 'for the good of the children' then they can already pack
up and go home. Children can't
get ahold of internet material by themselves. They need a computer, a
phone line, and an ISP, none
of which they are likely to furnish themselves, you know?

  This is a practical argument, not a legal argument.  The state of
Tennessee successfully prosecuted two people on obscenity charges because
they ran an adult BBS in California and which  required the police to dial
up the BBS from Tennessee.
