Once again ideas haunt my dreams and phantasmal visions
invade my sight.
Which means everything's going back to normal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, below's another fic that popped into my head. Heck
I think it should be an SM fic but since I don't know if I'll
continue it and the reference could be taken another way......
I just put in fanfic. And to make sure of no disrespect, I'll
just include a disclaimer anyway.
Disclaimer:
The references in the fic can be construed as coming
from Sailormoon. And of course 'Moonlight Densetsu' is
definitely not mine. They are used without permission.
Thank you for listening to this public service. And again
always use a disclaimer. It may not do anything but it
shows respect.

The weak light of the moon glowed on the clear meadow.
Tokyo Tower was visible from this point, a pillar light in the
enveloping darkness of the night, and two figures gazed
up at it. One, was a distinguished looking man, a lit pipe
and the graying hair made him look like he fit in a drawing
room in front of a warm fire in England than in a meadow
looking up at the Tokyo Tower. His companion, looking
much younger, had the same effect with his handsome
features and tousled hair, but his eyes had that hardness
to it that would tell you that this young man had somehow
seen hell and came back to tell about it.
' It's beautiful ain't it, Doc ?' said the younger man as they
looked up at the Tower from their vantage point.
' Yes.Yes,it is.'
The younger man looked up at it, the wistful look on his face
momentarily banishing the hardness on it.' Nice to see it again.'
The older man started at this. ' You've been to Japan before ?'
The young man responded with a smile. ' How else would I be
fluent in the language ?'
'Ah, yes.' The older man nodded in agreement. ' By the way, how
did you find our visit to the Professor's house ?'
' Interesting.'
' Just interesting ? The way you were looking at his daughter, you'd
think I'd find it surprising that it was _just_ interesting.'
' You noticed ?'
' One has to be blind not to notice. The girl was blushing beet red by
the time we left.'
' Sheesh. Sorry about that, Doc. Yeah, she's beautiful but I rather not.'
' But why ? She's a nice girl.'
' Yeah, she's nice. But she was beautiful in a certain way. Beautiful in
the way guns or swords are beautiful.'
' Eh ?'
' Trust me, Doc. The girl's a killing machine waiting to be activated. That
and the fact that her name just reminded me of old memories.'
Doc knew that tone of voice.' You had a girlfriend named Hotaru ?'
' Not exactly. Just an old client.'
'Oh.'
The two returned to looking at the tower. A few moments later, the
old man heard his companion hum a few bars. Then the young man
sang softly, nearly inaudible.
Gomen ne sunao ja nakute,
Yume no naka nara ieru,
Shikou kairo wa shotto sunzen,
Ima sugu aitai yo,
Nakitaku naru you-na moonlight,
Denwa mo dekinai midnight,
Datte junjou dou shiyou,
Haato wa mangekyou.
Tsuki no hikari ni michibikare,
Nandomo meguri-au,
Seiza no matataki kazoe uranau koi no yukue,
Onaji kuni ni umareta no mirakuru romansu.
Mo ichido futari de weekend,
Kami-sama kanaete happy-end,
Genzai kako mirai mo,
Anata ni kubittake.
Deatta toki no natsukashii,
Manazashi wasurenai,
Ikusenman no hoshi kara anata o mitsukerareru,
Guuzen mo chansu ni kaeru ikikata ga suki yo,
Fushigi-na kiseki kurosu-shite
Nandomo meguri-au,
Seiza no matataki kazoe uranau koi no yukue,
Onaji kuni ni umareta no mirakuru romansu,
Shinjite-iru no mirakuru romansu.
The silence was thick in the air as the young man finished. Doc
emptied his pipe with a few decisive taps.
' You have a nice singing voice.'
' Thanks,Doc.'
Silence was once again thick in the air as Doc put lit his pipe
once again, with the scritch of the match cutting into the silence.
' No crickets chirping.'
' They know what's about to happen. Who taught you the song ?'
' A girl taught me. Just before I killed her. '
Doc was silent as he looked to the younger man. He had that
far-away look in his eyes. Doc knew that meant the kid needed
to tell this to someone, so he shut up. He knew the kid was a
killer. That's why he hired him.
' Way back when I was still wandering around I ended up in Japan.
You know about my skills, Doc. Japanese laws maybe strict about
guns, but I'm hell of a lot sneakier than your normal Japanese.
Needless to say, with my gun I made a name for myself as a very
efficient killer. No bodies, no evidence, no connections. Silent and
clean, Doc, you know how I operate. Pretty soon, I was picking up
assignment after assignment.' He sighed.
' Heh. I made people disappear really well. I had a heart of ice, Doc.
Heart. Of. Ice. That went on for two years. Then _she_ came.'
The young man looked up, into the stars, a sigh leaving his lips.
' She was a rich kid. I had signed agreement before I met her. I
was to kill whomever she wanted me to kill and I get a million yen.
I agreed then I met her.'
A light laugh came from his lips, but it had an undercurrent of
despair.
' She was beautiful in that white dress of hers. Yes, Doc, her
name was Hotaru. I fell in love with her the moment I met her.
And she wanted me to kill her. ' He paused a moment and took
a long breath, as if gathering his strength.
' I would have flat out refused. But I knew she'd ask someone else
to do it. So I cobbled up something of a compromise. She could
back out anytime she wanted until midnight. If she still was set
on me killing her then I kill her and take the million yen.' He paused
once again, a light smile could be seen in the moon's weak
illumination.
' For the next five hours we went around Tokyo with me trying to
convince her that she had a lot to live for. We went to the Ginza,
skating rinks and that sort of stuff.' His smile widened.
' Hell, we even went up the Tower. Doc, I tell you that one of the
most beautiful sights I ever seen is Tokyo lit up at night. An hour
before midnight we went to the docks. She had relented a bit but
she was still stubborn about it. I don't know why she wanted to
do it, but I bet it had something to with a fiancee or something.'
The smile was gone from the young man's face as his eyes seemed
to glisten in the moonlight.
' That's where she taught me that song. I thought I pulled her out of
it when she smiled at me afterwards. My Hotaru looked a lot like
the Professor's Hotaru that moment, short hair and all. I still remember
her last words to me. Thanks for the wonderful night. Hell, I was
planning to ask her out that second.' Another pause and a deeper
breath, whot could be called by some as an 'almost sob'.
' Then she just went nuts. She must have known I wouldn't kill her
any other way, even with the million yen. She went for me and reflex
kicked in. Next thing, I knew I had my gun was out and I was hugging
her on the ground. ' A sad smile appeared on his face. ' I was crying
my bloody heart out. Me, the "Ice man", one of the best hitmen in the
world crying his heart on a dock, over a woman who wanted to die and
was paying him to kill her.'
He looked away from the Tower. ' Five minutes, Doc. Five minutes and
it would have been midnight.'
' If anyone ever dragged Tokyo Bay they'd find a skeleton wearing a
beautiful evening dress, weighted down by chains and a waterproof
briefcase with a million yen in it.'
Doc looked at the young man, a surprised look on his face. The young
man looked back.
'Heh, Doc, I probably have the worst love life in the world. I finally find
the woman I want to spend my life with and I get to kill her. How many
guys do you know killed the love of their lives, Doc ?'
Both of them were silent as they looked at each other, the moon's
luminescence lighting the clear meadow, the two figures of both men
looking like ghosts in the weak light.
The silence was broken when beeping erupted from Doc's pocket.
He pulled it out and looked at it.
'Bloody hell, the sensors are sensing a massive energy build up !'
He looked up at the young man.
' You alright, boy ?'
' I'm OK. Let's go.'
The two men disappeared into the shadows, leaving a clear meadow
with a good vantage point of the Tokyo Tower.

Well, as I said I don't know if I'll continue it.......but I already
have a plot cobbled up. All I need now is motivation.

' Writers are the torchbearers of civilization. We're set in a corner only we
can illuminate. Some of us are searchlights, able to cast a beam into the
far reaches of the human soul. Some of us are candles , barely able to
sustain a glow against the darkness. Nevertheless the words I write
are important, because light is additive. Another's light doesn't diminish
my own. Our lights together make us stronger.'
