A Ranma 1/2 Fanfiction: Vengeance
Part One: The Answer
by Ryan Erik
Akane looked into his eyes so deeply he could not turn away. He then
realized how close they were to each other, but neither wanted to turn
away. Their mutual gaze broke only when Ryouga tilted his head in to
kiss his beautiful goddess' mouth. Her lips were so soft they gave way
and parted, allowing his tongue to explore her mouth. They held the kiss
so long he almost thought it would last forever, but rather he broke it
off started playfully kissing her face, then to her neck and he started
to go lower when he heard something. "Oh don't stop my love!" Akane
called out and he shifted his attention back to her, but that noise
seemed to be growing louder, and the room they were in started to
vibrate. "Don't stop!" He heard Akane's cry but couldn't do anything
about it for the bed they were sitting on gave way and he fell onto a
grassy surface.
His eyes scanned the area looking for his one true love, but she was no
where to be seen. "Akane! Where are you?" The trees around him only
swayed with the wind in response. "No! I will not lose you!" His cries
were frantic as he searched his now jungle like surroundings for any
sign of her. After a few moments he found a rock and sat down, more
frustrated then anything. "Why does fate separate us? Why?!"
"The only reason she even tolerates your petty existence is because she
thinks your a pig!" the voice of Ranma taunted. Ryouga spun around to be
face to face with Ranma, but now he was sitting on a rock near the koi
pond in the Tendo Dojo. "She'll never love you and if she ever finds out
your P-chan she'll skin you alive!" Ryouga scowled at him, his
depression and anger rising. "Hey pig-boy! Why don't you do us all a
favor and skin yourself? I bet you taste pretty good!"
Ryouga's sadness became a pure beam of chi energy as he yelled, "Shishi
Hokodan!" The pure beam left nothing of Ranma but I pile of smoking ash.
His reality changed and he now was sitting on the booth at Ucchan's.
Ukyou came from the back and scowled at him. "You good for nothing pile
of shit! What the hell are you doing back here?" Ryouga's face became
one of surprise as Ukyou had never treated him like this before.
"Wha..." he didn't even get to start his question
when Ukyou again started yelling at him. "Well while your here, I can
fry you up and make plenty of bacon!" His eyes narrowed in anger.
"What's wrong Ryouga? Pig got your tongue?" That was the last straw.
Ryouga felt the burning anger inside of him and channeled it out in one
blast red chi reducing Ukyou and the rest of Ucchan's to nothing more
then ash.
"Your pathetic Ryouga! Slightest bit of anger and you kill all of my
friends! Why I even considered you a friend of mine, I haven't the
slightest idea." He turned to the newest voice and noticed that he now
stood inside Akane's room facing... Akane. 'No! Anyone but her!!!' "You
sicken me Ryouga! I..." He held his head and concentrated on building
what little chi energy he had left. 'This is it,' he thought to himself
as he released the blast against himself.
* * *
Ryouga woke up, completely covered in sweat. His breath was quick and
shallow and he shuddered at the thought of that nightmare. His
nightmares always tended to get bad when he would leave in bad terms
with Ranma, or anyone else for that matter. One word could injure his
fragile pride severely.
The chill in the air brought him back to reality and he sat up taking
in his current surroundings. He was in a forest with trees in every
direction, but none too thick. He noticed that it was still night time
and he relaxed once more yawning deeply, taking in the fresh air that he
so desperately needed. "All of it... all of this is your fault RANMA!!"
He yelled at the night sky. "I'm forever alone."
Daylight shown on Ryouga's head waking him up from his light slumber.
He then proceeded to explore his surroundings and upon coming to one
clearing he noticed a familiar village. "What? Where is this?" His mind
worked overtime but he couldn't figure out where this was.
He decided he might as well take a look and maybe ask someone how to get
back to Nerima.
He stood from his vantage point when he felt a prick of cold steel
press up against his neck. Whatever it was, it was very sharp. A girl
spoke to him in Chinese, <Your not welcome here! Turn around and leave
or I will be forced to kill you!> He slowly turned himself around and
faced his attacker. Before him was a very beautiful, and very deadly
Amazon warrior. <Your not listening! I said leave!>
<Please forgive me, I knew not where I was.> He tried to calm her and
get her to take the spear point off of his neck with little success.
<I'll leave, if you can show me which way is opposite of your village?>
She nudged him to his left with her spear, and he he started to go to
the right.
<The other way stupid!> she yelled and he turned around and made his
way far away from the village.
* * *
<Stupid men,> the beautiful Amazon said as she watched Ryouga's
departing figure disappear out of sight. <Stupid but handsome.> She
decided to follow him just in case he decided that he'd enter the
village anyway.
<Where did that stupid fool go?> The Amazon girl had never lost someone
in HER own territory before. She looked around but the stranger seemed
to have vanished after he turned around a very large rock. <Oh well,
back to guard duty.> She turned to leave and saw Ryouga in the distance
heading on the path that would take him straight to Jusenkyo springs.
<Good, I hope that stupid fool falls in!>
* * *
Ryouga again was lost in thought and didn't watch where he was going,
even though he was entering a familiar area. How could he possibly get
revenge on Ranma anyway? He could never beat him, even with that psycho
old pervert Happosai's help. He remembered all the tricks he'd employed
and all of the techniques he learned in an attempt to bring down Ranma.
'He may not be the smartest person, but when it comes to Martial arts,
Ranma can't be stopped...' he thought.
There had to be some way to stop him though. Ranma could not be allowed
to hurt Akane anymore.
A slight rumble in the sky caused Ryouga to mechanically pull out his
umbrella and hold it above him. There had to be a way to stop even
Ranma. Maybe he work through Akane? Somehow he had to let her know of
Ranma's sins, but every time he tried fate stood in his way and didn't
allow him back to the Tendo dojo.
Tears appeared in Ryouga's eyes as he continued his journey into the
unknown. Maybe if he could get Ranma to disappear, Akane would like him
instead? Ranma wouldn't even leave for a cure, how could he get him to
leave of his own free will?
"Why not just kill him?" a voice in the back of his head asked.
'Why not?' he thought to himself partially listening to the voice.
"I'll tell you why not! Your not a murderer Ryouga!" his conscience
argued back. "Your a good person! Ranma's the one who is doing the
crimes! Don't sink to his level." His conscience did make sense, but
putting him out of the way permanently was just so tempting.
"If you kill him you will be doing everyone so much good!" The voice in
the back of his head argued back. "Imagine how happy everyone would be."
Ryouga's mind pictured him and Akane standing around the Tendo dojo with
all of their friends with no common feud called Ranma to split them
apart. "The only reason Shampoo and Mousse weren't in love and married
is because of Ranma! He leads her around but has no intention of doing
anything but sleeping with her!" Ryouga's mood darkened at the thought
of Ranma's horrible sin against the purple haired beauty. "Think of
Ukyou... his crimes against her go way back. Even longer and worse then
yours!" Ryouga's mind thought of when he first heard the story of
Ranma's broken promise to Ukyou. Even at the tender age of 5 Ranma was a
demon in human skin.
"Don't listen to him Ryouga... you can't give in to murder or you'll be
just as bad, if not worse, then Ranma himself!" His conscience was
pleading with him. "Things will turn out for the best if your hearts in
the right place." Oh how good it sounded just to slay Ranma, but he was
not like that. He would find another way to rid his life of that foul
person, without using murder as a tool.
"You'll regret not killing him in the future Ryouga. He will ruin yours
and Akane's life. He will kill you!" The dark side of his thoughts tried
to get Ryouga's anger built, but it failed. Ryouga was not like Ranma.
He would not do something that he would regret later.

Two girls walked, hand in hand, through the rain. The first, a pretty,
pig-tailed red head wearing a red Chinese shirt which was untucked,
hanging out of her baggy black pants, beamed a smile as she walked. Her
whole outfit, being very oversized, did not fit her very well and was
completely soaked. The other, another pretty girl wearing an equally
soaked white gi, looked a bit self conscious as she walked with her
friend. Her short black hair fell into her face, causing her to push it
aside with her free hand. She blushed a bit seeing her friends gaze fall
on her but it was quickly replaced with her happy confident smile. The
two seemed oblivious to everything else that surrounded them.
"I love you Akane." The red head released Akane's hand, putting her arm
around her shoulders, and receiving an arm around her waist in response.
"I love you too, Ranma." The mutual love between them kept their spirits
high and their bodies warm as they walked along the side walk with no
hurry to get to their destination.
"This was a good idea, love." Akane said to Ranma, who smiled sweetly
at her and kissed her on the cheek. 'He can be sweet when he wants to
be...' Akane couldn't remember a time where she was happier. The day
started strangely peaceful for once, and they didn't fight at all before
school. He didn't even walk on the fence like he usually did, so that
they could walk together to hold hands. Of course, they couldn't avoid
Kuno's challenge, but Ranma quickly dispatched of him so they could
continue in relative peace. After school, he asked if she wanted to go
to the park for a little practice, because the dojo was under repairs.
She dressed in her gi, and he in his normal Chinese outfit. When they
got there, her jaw dropped in surprise and she fainted in shock. He made
a picnic instead.
She awoke in his arms and they stayed like that for what seemed like
forever. After they ate, they fed the ducks at the pond with some extra
bread that he had packed along. They could have stayed there forever,
and she really wanted to do so, but Nerima's strange weather patterns
called for today to rain. They took shelter under a grove of trees,
where they stayed for a bit but the rain didn't let up, so they walked
home.
They arrived at the gate to the Tendo residence, stopping short of
entering where they looked intently at each other. Akane wondered what
Ranma would do? As if answering her, Ranma put her arms around Akane and
held her close, tilting her own head kissing Akane full on the lips. At
first, Akane was a little shocked, but after a few seconds she eased
into the embrace.
After a few moments Ranma released her and opened the gate. They
entered the compound, closing the gate behind them. They walked through
the grounds, by the koi pond, and into the house without seeing anyone.
'It must be late,' she thought as walked through the main living area.
Then she felt how tired she really was. "You okay Akane-chan?" Ranma
asked in a near whisper. Ranma was very close, for she could feel her
warmth, but in exhaustion her eyes started to close involuntarily. She
then felt herself being picked up and carried upstairs when sleep
finally claimed her.
Ranma smiled as she placed Akane on the bed after putting a towel down
so that she wouldn't soak it. 'This is the best day I've ever had.'
Ranma thought knowing that it was truth. She had never gone a day
without being harassed, attacked (Kuno doesn't count), and flattened (by
Akane) all in one day.
Ranma, like Akane, started to feel extremely drowsy, but wasn't about
to go to sleep on Akane even though it tempted her a bit. She exited the
room and walked into the bathroom, stripping her clothes off. She
grabbed a towel and walked up turning the bath on.
She went over to the mirror and looked at her reflection. She saw a
young red head, a beautiful young red head for that matter, standing
looking back at her completely nude. Of course, she stared at her own
reflection but this still seemed like a stranger, whose body she was
occupying. 'I don't know if I'll ever be completely used to this curse.'
She always told everyone that she'd give up her curse in the blink of an
eye, but from all of her chances she wondered if she had to keep it for
some plot that fate had for her.
She turned to the bathtub and turned off the faucet. 'Either way, its
better to be half-girl then a girl all the time.' She could not imagine
being like this full time. She always considered herself a male, in
thought and in body (half the time), no matter what form she currently
occupied. Recently though, she was becoming more and more at ease with
some things that would normally bother her, but it mattered little. She
could get a cure later, when things settled down.
Entering the tub of hot water, She underwent the transformation that
she, now a he, never really noticed. Every time hot or cold water would
hit him, he never actually felt the change until obvious anatomy became
apparent that he was in his other form. He might never fully be used to
the curse, but he was becoming quite comfortable.
Lately, things between Akane and him weren't too bad at all. She still
used her mallet every now and again, but rarely with enough anger to
send him flying to far away from the Tendo dojo. After settling the
problem of multiple fiancee's, he felt a lot more light hearted about
the future. Shampoo had taken it rather well, as did Ukyou, but Kodachi
lost her remaining tid bit of sanity and tried to kill Akane. This
landed her in an insane asylum outside of Tokyo, which he felt bad
about, but it wasn't his fault. Now he was only interrupted by Kuno and
Ryouga, whenever he would actually show up. Other then those two, no one
was actually trying to split them apart. The couple's parents actually
started to give them privacy, and less encouragement since they decided
to get married. Everything was going very very well in his opinion.
"Now where's the damn soap?"
* * *
That same night.
Ukyou Kuonji stared at the night sky from atop the roof of her
restaurant that was now far away from Nerima, far away from the crazy
things that went on there, and far away from Ranma. Her heart still
ached every time she thought of him, but being a independent,
strong-willed woman, she would be just fine. Why, just yesterday, she
met a nice gentleman who offered her a date, which, of course, she
couldn't turn down. Through it all, though, she was still recovering
from Ranma's choice of Akane.
She wanted to hate Akane for having Ranma, but that was not her way.
She would pull through this, and every other obstacle that lay in her
path from now on. Why does it have to hurt so bad though? How could he
choose someone who hurt him on a daily basis? Couldn't he see that she
was everything Akane wasn't?
Something odd took her attention from the sky... her chimney was
moving towards her! After a moment of confusion, she reached for her
spatula and growled one name in anger, "TSUBASA!" This was then
proceeded by a loud crunch, a flying cross-dresser and a falling
shredded chimney disguise.
'Will that baka ever give up?' Well, things were almost able to be
considered normal. A little piece of Nerima would always be with her.
Whether that was good or bad, she did not know, but either way, she
would make it out okay.
* * *
Ryouga was not in a good mood. The lost boy, as his name implies, was
once again lost. At least he knew he was in China, which made him wonder
how he got there once more. He remember walking through Nerima, then he
remembered turning a corner then all of a sudden next thing he realized
was that he was in a thickly forested area which he wandered until he
was tired. Now he found the Amazon village, but was turned away.
So now he was once he could be anywhere on the Asian continent.
Thankfully in his travels he picked up enough languages to keep him out
of trouble. 'I wonder where fate will lead me to this time?' As he
thought to himself, a low cloud cover turned into fog and made it all
but impossible to see more then a few feet ahead. 'Just great, I'll
probably wander right into a lake, or an ocean.'
Now was a time for action and a time for plotting, but of course there
isn't much you can do in China when you need to be in Japan. He wondered
if he'd make it back to Japan before Ranma and Akane's wedding. He
seriously doubted it. If he didn't make it in time there would be almost
nothing he could do, and his life would effectively be pointless. "DAMN
IT ALL TO HELL! I'LL DO ANYTHING TO BE ABLE TO STOP THAT WEDDING AND GET
RID OF RANMA! DO YOU HEAR ME?! ANYTHING!!!!" He yelled so loud that
Ranma himself all the way in Japan probably heard.
"Do you mean that?" The voice from days before returned and it was
stronger now. "If so all you have to do is agree to kill Ranma and your
wish will be granted." He wondered if what this voice promised could be
delivered.
He thought on it for a second and answered, "How can I know that what
you promise will be granted?" He heard a quiet laughter that seemed to
echo from within him. "I don't believe you, and I already told you that
I won't kill him, no matter how badly I want to. Who are you anyway?!"
"You did say anything..." the voice taunted. "Who I am matters not, but
what I offer can give you the happiness that you've wanted all of your
life."
'At what cost?' Ryouga not be one of the more intelligent people on
earth but he was by far not one of the stupidest. "No! I will not kill
anybody! I want him to pay for what he's done, but I don't know if I can
actually kill him."
There was a brief silence but then the voice came back to him. "Then,
there's no need to kill him since your so adamant about it. All you have
to do is ruin his life beyond repair." Ruin Ranma's life? HAHAHAHA!
Ranma out of the picture and Akane with him? and all he has to do is
ruin Ranma's life?
"DEAL!" he screamed in acceptance.
"Remember though, that as long as Ranma lives he is able to try and get
revenge on you for what you will do. You accept this?" Ryouga nodded
vigorously. "Good, now just follow the path and you will find everything
you need to defeat Ranma." As the voice stated that, the fog cleared
revealing a path that seemed to stretch on as far as the eye could see.
What else was there to do but follow it?
* * *
The Jusenkyo Guide sat in his cabin with his pipe in hand, smoking it
thoughtfully. So many people had been coming through this area recently
and getting cursed. The last couple who came through here where very
unlucky, the young man falling into the spring of the drowned tiger and
the woman into spring of the drowned wolf. Why anyone would want to come
here in the first place was beyond him.
He looked over at his daughter, Plume, sleeping soundly. He had to
watch over her most of the time so that she did not fall into any of the
springs, but she was pretty good about avoiding them unlike all the
visitors here who ended up getting cursed more then not. He wondered who
would be next to fall to Jusenkyo's curse?
He gazed out the window of his cabin and saw that the heavy fog was
departing from the area enabling him to see any would-be visitors so
that he could warn them before they were to be cursed. Besides the
daunting knowledge of Jusenkyo being a very horrible and cursed place,
it was actually quite peaceful when animals and people weren't falling
into the springs.
Just in that moment, a figure approaching his cabin caught his eye. He
looked out trying to get a better view and saw it to be a human walking
straight towards the cursed springs area of Jusenkyo. <Oh no! He'll fall
in!> he whispered frantically.
The guide rushed outside just in time before the young man that was now
before him was cursed. He took in the figure and recognized him at once.
"Ahh, you the boy who fall in Heitueniichuan, spring of drowned black
piglet. You come back for cure, no?" The young man looked at him quite
startled.
"So this is where they want me to go?" he whispered but the Jusenkyo
guide heard him quite well. "Yesyesyesyes! Please take me there!" The
boy's formerly dark mood seemed quite cheerful now at the proposition of
a cure.
"Last time I check, pool empty, but it no hurt to look." The young man
seemed saddened but he look like he still held onto hope. He then lead
the young man, after several checks to make sure he didn't wander off,
to the spring of the drowned man which was quite full now. "You have
much luck sir. You jump in and be cured."
Without a second thought Ryouga jumped into the spring.

"RANMA NO BAKA!" The familiar cry was yelled out, but there was no
mallet to bash him into unconsciousness. Ranma opened his eyes and
looked at his fiancee tentatively as if it were a ploy to catch him off
guard. "Ranma, your such a jerk! My cooking is not bad!" She apparently
put her mallet back wherever she had gotten it from in the first place.
"Akane... I'm sorry but it just tastes so bad that..." He let his mouth
go before his brain again. Now he prepared to be smashed but instead
Akane glared at him then calmly walked upstairs most likely to her room.
"Akane wait! I didn't mean it like that! Please wait!" She didn't stop
so he tried to follow her up but as he went to enter she slammed the
door in his face and he heard it lock behind her. "Akane please open
up?" he pleaded at her door.
He was answered with silence.
He slid pressed his back up against the door and slid down it to sit
down. He heard her softly crying inside. 'I hate it when girls cry...
especially when its Akane.' He sat staring at the wall, and wondered why
he always let his mouth get himself into trouble. Then again, why didn't
she just stop and realize that her cooking IS bad. He wasn't trying to
insult her but her food was just plain unedible. "Akane, I may not be
the best cook in the world but I promise that I will show you a few
pointers if you open up." Her crying stopped from within and he heard
her walk slowly up to the door.
"You will?"
"Yes. Please open up. Let's talk."
With that he heard the lock rotate and the door slide open, taking away
his backrest, causing him to fall back a bit. "Baka, get in here." He
smiled at her statement and stood up and she moved aside to allow his
entrance. The door then shut behind him and she jumped on her bed
motioning for him to sit down.
He sat and she rested her head on his shoulder and then he spoke up. "I
really didn't mean to insult your food, Akane. I know you worked hard on
it, but that brings me to my point." She looked at him taking in what he
was saying. "Well, you tend to try too hard. You make simple mistakes
which cause the food to taste... not so good."
"What do you mean?"
"Let me start by giving you those few pointers. First of all, I've
learned... well... er... you should first gather all your ingredients
together, and measure everything first off so that you don't make a
mistake. Don't stray from the original recipe by adding or subtracting
anything, that way what you cooked should stick pretty closely to what
its supposed to be like." He continued on explaining and told her to
make sure she grabbed the correct ingredients, and
check them more then once. She listened to his very in depth tips, and
stared at him in awe.
"When did you learn all this?" she asked.
"Well... umm... I kind've watch Kasumi once or twice," he had to
stretch the truth for that one. Actually he had questioned Kasumi and
watched her quite a few times, while she cooked. He mainly did it out of
boredom and curiosity never fully intending to learn that much. Akane
bought that and he then told her a few other things. "So tomorrow, ya
wanna cook with me helping? I'll only do this if you listen to me
without bashing me. Okay?"
She playfully punched his arm and nodded with a broad smile on her
face. He then stood up to leave but was pulled back roughly. "You didn't
give me my good night kiss."

The look on Ryouga's face as he departed from Jusenkyo explained
everything he was planning on doing. He finally figured out how he would
ruin Ranma's chances with Akane and his life forever. His confidence
soared more then it ever had before in the passed since Ranma entered
his life nearly a decade ago. His mind wandered and he began day
dreaming of his long awaited revenge. Vengeance would be his... just as
soon as he could find the Tendo dojo.
