The woman had glasses and long hair. She seemed 
familiar in an odd way. There was SOMETHING about her
that Ranma found unnerving in the manner of a cat.
Maybe it was the way she was eyeing him.

hefted the ring. "See, no big blue genie, no nothing.
I seen enough magic to last me a lifetime, anyway. So
I ain't making no wishes!"

	"Ah, then, how about I give you one on the
house, as a trial?"

	"No way. If I could, I'd wish that somebody
else had all MY problems but..."

	Ah and the way the wish is worded it could simply take someone and 
give them problems just like Ranma's without doing anything to eliminate 
Ranma's

	*GRANTED*

	"Kuso," managed Ranma. He really hated magic.
Where did that woman go, anyway? He really, REALLY
hated magic.

Sounds very much like it could be used as a prelude to Blade's "The Ties 
that Bind" series.
