And before somebody says, it's NOT Kimiko. That is, as far as I can tell, a
fanfic invention that has creeped into the pool of common knowledge, rather
like passion spice and Ryoga's exageratted habit of getting-lost.
I partially agree on the fact that using these tricks too often is not a
good idea, for
everybody gets used to it, and some people even end up believing in the
passion spice thing
(I was one of those until I bought the whole Ranma series and found out
it was bullshit).
Still, about Ryouga's lack of the most elementary sense of direction,
it's often proved in
the original manga that he's absolutely helpless: show him the road on
the right at the fork, and
even if you insist, he'll take the left way...
It can be also damn funny when used as a pun. I saw a good exploitation
of this in a lemon (don't
remember which one, I beg the author's mercy) where He was asked:
"Where have you been, Ryouga?"
Answer was something like "Oh, dunno...weird place. Red sand deserts,
twin moons and giant worms."
He didn't name the place...but we all know *where* Ryouga has been, and
this kinda little joke is
nice to read...
somewhere in a nother dimension...
"O great Muaddib! Our Feddakin have been defeated!"
Paul Atreides felt his blood freeze in his veins and asked: who the
hell! A Harkonnen? A sardaukar?
...
"Well, answer, soldier!"
"...no. He was none of these...he was a teenager...and he clubbed them
all with his umbrella...and...sob..."
"And what?!"
"...and he ripped all their distilles with a bunch of razor-bandannas!"
The soldier got a nervous breakdown.
"Hahaaahaahaaaaaa!! Bandannas! He had infinite bandannaaaaaaaaas!!!"
Paul Atreides felt suddenly very old.
Forgive my sudden madness. I live in a country on the edge of civil war,
it makes me nerrrrvous.
