You don't really have to do that.

First, there was a complicated, confusing story that I only know of because
it was mentioned on the comics groups...  it's considerably worse than just
that; there was also a real Don Blake and a fake Don Blake.  (Just go to
Dejanews and search for Don Blake in rec.arts.comics.marvel.universe in the
past week or so.)

Second, people other than Thor can get the power of Thor from the early
version of the hammer anyway.  There was a What If where Jane Foster got the
hammer, and of course there's Beta Ray Bill.
