It has been a long time since I did much reading of Marvel Comics, but my
impression was that the Celestials may be the most powerful beings in the
universe. IIR, when they came to Earth one time, one of them was struck
with a sword that was backed by the power of most gods on the Earth and
wielded by Odin. The sword didn't bounce. It penetrated the chest. The
Celestial simply pulled it out which is more impressive than simply
deflecting or otherwise stopping it. Even the gods didn't know the extent
of the power of the Celestials or their purpose.

well the last time that the Celestials came back was when they came to collect
Franklin Richards (that reminds me, this kiddy has the power to re-create the
world including the people innit. oh well, i suppose that the writer will
make him 'be away'....or maybe...hmm...). Yeah the Celestials can kick
behind, but let us not forget this, Galactus came from the universe before
ours, so he is older than even the oldest celestials. he is part of the
galactic pantheon of super cosmic beings. hell, even the cosmic cube people
(the beings that were evolved from the cosmic cubes. you have to wonder why
those people at AIM haven't conquered the world yet. bad managment i guess)
don't compare. Galactus is the boss. I still think that the Ultimate
Nullifier would only wound Galactus, but that's just me. The Celestials
remember just go around creating species. Well, one of them just goes around
judging people (prat). So that means that these people have been around a
little after the creation of the universe. So Galactus has a lot of time to
collect a lot of power. in fact his only weak point is his HUNGER (which gets
all caps because its been around for so long). But, let's not turn the FFML
into a forum for comics discussion, much as i love comics
