Actually, if you watch Sailor Moon **VERY** closely, she exhibits that
kind of behavior a few times throughout the series. In particular,
during final battles during villains, or when trying to shield an
innocent, she seems to get a force-field. At one point (dodging spoilers
here) during S, she jumps in front of someone about to be blasted to
smithereens. After she takes the blast, she looks like hell -- but there
are big gouges in the floor to either side of her where the blast
vaporized the ground; there's a cone-shaped area behind her that's been
totally shielded.
