Not at all pointless. It's an issue of how legitimate a particular element
of many fanfics is in comparison to the source material.

And the issue at question is entirely due to a misunderstanding of
Mercurito's post. It's been settled, and the same things are being
repeated over and over by people who aren't bothering to read the
followup posts to see that their points have already been made.

"When did Mrs. Tendo Die?" (The question's been answered...)

And opened other questions.

Which have already been answered over and over.

death, thank you.)

In your opinion.  Given the use of Japanese in many fanfics, this is
important to some people.

Important or not, the questions have been answered.

Just because you're not interested doesn't make these SPAM the way 'best
babe' threads are spam.  These threads all have some relevance and aren't
just people babbling maniacally.  

These threads may have *had* some relevance. They've long since
degenerated into people repeating what's already been said.

Do you think the members of the FFML, as a collective whole,

can

possibly find it within themselves to let these threads ride off into
the sunset/sunrise/planetary conjunction? It would be beneficial to
all of us. 

No it wouldn't.

It would be beneficial to those of us who depend on this list for
meaningful comments on our stories.
