NO!  I refuse to allow this line of thinking go on any further, as it 
gives me nightmares... I used to be comfortable in my belief that God 
was up there, looking down at us, and in some way, watching us pleased 
him.  I even give him credit for having a good sense of humor, more for 
enjoying irony as much as he can, and even more for not smiting us when 
we do bad things.  But this...  this... this is too much.

I refuse to believe that Shinji is the Second Coming for that one 
reason.  (Not that I believe that much in Jesus being the First Coming. 
 It's possible, but as of right now, if you ask me, he was a rabbi with 
delusions of granduer.)

Although....  I can see a fic idea here... Not a very nice one, but a 
fic idea...  Let's suppose, for an instant, that this is true.  Shinji 
is the Messiah, which makes Gendo... well... you know.  Combine that 
with the postulation that Eva-01 is somehow anagolus (sp?) to Lucifer 
before the fall.  It's such a hacknied plot, but it would work.  What if 
Gendo recreated Lucifer, inorder to fight Lucifer?  It's often said that 
a man is his own worst enemy.  Why can't the same hold true for angels?

Would be interesting to see what Lucifer's reaction to all this...  What 
if he isn't behind this all?  What if the Hosts that he brought with him 
are rebelling against him?  Hrm....  And Gendo doesn't know this, so he 
creates Lucifer Mk II to put the beat down on the rabble, and Lucifer 
appears, and pleads for help.. (Okay, that would be completely OOC for 
The MorningStar... Maybe he makes a deal... whatever...)

This would be interesting...  Hrm....  Maybe you could weave the Sandman 
mythos into this as well...
