H'lo,

	I was reading through my Education book while cramming for my final
tomorrow(today) when a random thought struck me.  Granted, I've seen a
variant of this idea in one shape already while I've been on this list, but
I was curious if this particular idea was used before; if it has, can
someone e-mail me (privately)?

	But anyways, the idea was formed with the Ranma universe in mind.  The
time I think would be sometime after Ranma first arrives in Nerima, I'm not
exactly sure when.  But as it goes, he runs into a girl who really falls
for him.  The difference with this girl however (who I would think I could
slip in as another fiance p'haps), is that she doesn't fight.  Rather, she
is quasi-pacifistic in nature, knowing something of chi-based powers that
affect emotions (ala calming someone down before really letting someone
else have it), as well as a fully defensive form of martial arts.  (So,
she's not really a fighting type of person, but she certainly can stop one
if she puts her mind to it).

	This idea was brought to my mind by the fact that I was reading about
Eastern religions in reference to teaching philosophies, and I came across
a religion called Jain.  In this religion, at least from the couple of
sentences it has from my book, it states that those who practice this
religion "...have great respect for all life... [and] avoid injury to any
form of life."  A girl like this is a definate contrast to the injury prone
residents of Nerima, especially when the girl takes a pro-active stance to
stop fighting wherever she goes.  And this offset in the scheme of Ranma's
life might make an interesting shift in him, and the storyline as well.

	Yes yes, I know...two lines in a book does not give one the whole story on
a religion.  But if this idea isn't feasible, then I won't have to worry.
If you good people think there is merit to a story like this, then I'll be
doing my trip to the local Library of Congress to do some research. ^_^
Besides, this is a thought while pulling an all-nighter.  You're bound to
come up with crazy ideas too at 5 in the morning. ^_^  Anyways, someone
please give me a clue if this is an interesting idea to follow up on or
not, k?  I've got a test to ace.  Thanks in advance and ja ne.
