Lawson,
(actually, believe it or not, I spent several minutes pondering whether
to use "Mr. Lawson" or just "Richard"; silly, I guess)
Interpret this any way you want. Actually, I'm not quite sure myself
how it should be interpreted ...
I have serious problems reading this series (the first part even more
so, since this one shows at least some rays of hope; had it not, I
might not have been able to get through it). Not because of tear-blurred
eyes like some of your other work, but because it feels so horridly,
irrevocably Unfair (for lack of a better word).
It is quite simply possibly the most scary thing I've ever read, and
brings a very unpleasant feeling to my gut; so much so that I had to
leave this part waiting for a week before I could even read it.
So ... well, as I said, I'm not really sure how that's to be
interpreted. You've managed to bring everything across just as bad
as it really is. It's a positive reaction, I guess, so long's it does
not truly make the reading impossible.
In closing, I don't know whether to say "I hope you'll get the next
part done soon" or "I wish you'd never started this". :)
