Well, yes... I guess that would be rather helpful to know to follow
this thread... ^_^; Terry Pratchett is a british writer who does the
'Discworld' series, a fantasy/comedy line of books taking place on
a flat world on the back of a turtle that's very oddly like our own
world, only more exaggerated.  He's got a unique style of writing
that deliberately plays on words to trip the reader up every now and
then, and a tone of voice that's been seen in a lot of fanfic.
