portray Akane as being jealous and possessive about Ranma, while retaining the

compromising situations with the various potential suitors that tend to pop up
throughout his life. In many ways, it could be presented as being something
closer to a reversal of (at least some) of Ataru and Lum's role attributes,
and they probably would resemble more closely their Ranmaverse equivalents
than the UY analogs.  

Ryouga, as Akane's jealous would-be boyfriend (a la Shinobu.)

Shinobu generally attacked Ataru, not Lum.  Unless you think Ryouga should
smack Akane around?  This is not a generally accepted thing.

	Well, actually the more I thought about it, the more it seemed like Ryouga
would fit in better as a replacement Ran, the 'friend' out to destroy Ranma's
happiness for making Ryouga's life a miserable hell.  

	But then again, I believe the main problem stated is that most everyone is
thinking of sticking to the UY story line a little too literally. 

	After all, Part of the fun in a fusion is to watch as the conflicting natures
of a cast member's temperament force him/her either to bend the story lines
into unexpected directions, or to struggle internally as they try to justify
their actions through standard elements of the plot.  

	On any case, if the plot works, and is well written, (Two Big important
If's!) most stories manage to discard the feelings of 'miscasting' of
characters.  (Either that, or they raise huge Hellfire wars between outraged
fans of the various characters 'ruined' & those who actually like the fic
enough to defend it.)  But, since this is just an idea being kicked around,
there's no point taking it too personally. (Yet.)

As for Ranma in tiger stripes:

For Ranma-kun:
	Well, maybe just a red tiger-striped shirt, (or just part of the shirt?)
While retaining the plain black pants.  

For Ranma-onna:
	A red and black tiger-stripe patterned bikini, perhaps?
