Back to point: what makes a fanfic good?
And so far I've come up with the following critera:

 1. The author feels it's good (the easiest part)

I think this is true to some part. I mean, if an author goes out and tells
everyone in the intro paragraph of their fanfic that it sucks, people will
tend to think it sucks, yet, the worse critic is yourself. One will almost
always overjudge the flaws in their own work. It's only human. Only a sick
egotistical bastard will say his work is that and dim sum ::turns to Myth.
::DAMMIT, STOP LOOKING AT ME... ::sighs:: back on track
 2. Readers tell the author and others it's good
Hmmm... that could be true, but nothing can appeal to everyone. There will
always be a reader or something that looks at it and says, it sucks... just
because I don't like it, period. But don't let that stop you.
 3. More than five people read the story and think it's good
This is not really true. I mean, if I write and one guy (or gal) is willing
to read, I'll keep writing for them. If I can make something that apeals to
someone, even if it's only one person, I will do it, especially if it's a
girl. Why? I'm a sucker for chicks!
 4. Pre-readers catch all the little glitches in the story
This would not be yer fault, it would be the pre readers fualt, so it
doesn't lie in the editting, I don't think, but I'm probably wrong!
 5. Long descriptive passages describing minute details of a Stephen King
 novel
	I like minute details!
 6. Said fic must exist for an extended period of time

yadda yadda yadda... I'm done...
