This was something I thought up on the bus home.  It wouldn't leave me

A Different Sort of Problem

	Gendo blinked.  That was a most unforeseeable result.  All four EVAs
stood on the battle field in absolute stillness.  Synchronization rates
of three of the children were at zero percent, while Shinji's has merely
dropped drastically.  Most likely signifying they were suffering severe
shocks to their systems.

	"Communication lines are all still open."

	"Commander, except of EVA 01, none of the EVAs are responding."

	"Visuals are still unavailable."

	Gendo nodded as progress reports were given to him.  He listened
intently as the sounds within each EVA were replayed.  What he heard
next made him gasp.  Could it be?  After all these years?

			* * * * *

**flashback**

	Yui smiled as she held her new husbands arm.  "I only discovered this
place last year.  I wanted to keep it as a surprise."

	"Oh?"  Genod patted his wife's hand affectionately.  He looked around
him at what looked to be a heavily flooded area.  He raised an eyebrow
and looked at his wife questioningly.

	"You can't guess what it is?  This is proof to my theory.  This is the
reason I was able to make so many advances in our work.  Go ahead dip
your finger into it.  Be careful not to fall in, the guide said it would
be dangerous if you did."

	"I will," Gendo nodded and walked over an area not as heavily flooded. 
The flooding in that area seemed to have subsided quite a bit and formed
into a small pool of water separated from the rest of the vast amounts
of water.  Carefully, he leaned over and dipped a finger into the
water.  He immediately had to grab hold of himself as he nearly fell in
to the pool as new sensations coursed through his mind.

	"You see?  I had the same feeling when, I first came here.  I am told
that this was the work of magic and will wear off eventually.  I'm sure
our research can reproduce the same and lasting effect.  Already, I've
administered small portions of select pure concentrations of the water,
the guide had in a store house, to the LCL we've developed."

	"The springs... I felt... I heard..," Gendo said as he struggled for
the words.

	"Yes, the souls of hundreds of once living beings all gathered in one
area.  This is the magic of Jusenkyo."

**end flashback**

			* * * * *

	"Bweee!"

	"Meow?"

	"Growf?"

	"I have breasts!?"

	"We have visuals sir!"

	Gendo looked upon the images of a small black piglet, a blue cat, a
panda cub, and a red headed Yui.  "The angel?"

	"It seems to have left the body.  Another pattern has merged with each
of the EVAs."

	Gendo blinked again.

			* * * * *

	Yui looked at the red headed girl beside her.  EVA 01 was starting to
get cramped for space.

			* * * * *

	"Live with you father?  I'd love to," Shinji said in a higher pitch
voice than was usual.
