Just a few fanfic ideas, from Greggsharp@aol.com
http://members.aol.com/MetroAnime/main.html

the Tendo Dojo has been set up with a radio
commentary booth.

"So what're we talking about today?"

"Fanfic ideas."

Ranma quickly got up and was heading out the door.
"I'm outta here."

"Are you sure you want to go out there?"

Ranma hesitated. Nabiki using phrases
like that started a warning siren going.
With considerable trepidation, he returned to
his chair.

"So what's the first one?"

"Herb's a little nuts."

"A little?"

"In this first concept he's made a deal with
Happosai."

"Uh oh."

"Happosai's running around with water balloons
filled with 'Spring Of Drowned Girl' water. No,
that does not mean the victims look identical to
onna-Ranma."

"Well, that's one thing at least."

"Still they're all cute. 'Pretty ladies' as
Happosai would put it. That's enough motivation
for him."

"So this plotline deals with the effects on
Nerima and/or the population at large with the
little lech running around soaking people at
random, huh?"

"Yeah, call this 'They Call Him Mister Happy'
or something like that. And it's a LOT of
people, enough that the whole Juusenkyo thing
starts to get out of the 'National Enquirer'
and starts showing up in JAMA (Journal of
the American Medical Association) and in
the REGULAR papers. So, this also could deal
with the effects of having this stuff around."

"How many people we talking about here?"

"Dozens to hundreds. Depends on whether or not
Herb's figured out how to concentrate Juusenkyo
water down to the 1/3. Figure he's drained the
spring twice 'cause he's now studying under Happi
and this is part of the deal."

"The Chinese government declaring it to be
a National Treasure and erecting hundred foot
walls to keep people out, etc. Gotcha."

"The next idea is one of those alternate
 timeline things."

"Oh man, I hate those, they usually end up
with me boinking you or something."

"Excuse me, Ranma?"

"Nothing! Nothing!"

"Well, in the first one it's really quite simple.
What would have happened if you'd gotten some
hot water or an umbrella before showing up at the
Tendo dojo. Such a simple change, showing up as a
boy that first day."

"Yeah, well maybe Akane wouldn't have gotten so
angry at me. She never did forgive me for being
a boy when she had thought I was a girl."

"Exactly. The second of these 'parallel universe'
ideas is similar to the first. The idea occurs
to Genma that Soun would appreciate some training
and you visit the Tendo dojo _before_ the trip to
Juusenkyo. Of course, with Daddy and possibly at
least one of his daughters along (as an opportunity
for the fiancee and/or backup(s) to get to know
each other) Juusenkyo may have really been a mess."

"Since inner nature is often seen as a reflection of
the cursed form," Ranma mused, "or else just the
worst possibility, you could have ended up in Spring
Of Drowned Cat. That would have revealed the Nekoken
 stuff that early."

"Whereas in 'Ring Of Toltiir' it was simply the curse
that would have caused the most personal angst. Yes,
 I know."

"Yeah, any others?"

"How about this one? You realize that when Mousse
turns into a duck and retains his human brain
somehow, that must be magic, right? What if the
biological factors came a little bit more into
 play?"

"Well, that'd be bad for him, but at least I
 wouldn't have any major problems..."

"No, Ranma? Ever hear of neuropeptides, hormones,
cultural pressure, all the little details of a
 neurochemistry change? Admittedly switching back
and forth might just give you headaches, but if
you stayed a girl for awhile, your thinking
would be colored by the biology..."

"Ick."

"Well, you remember those other wishes you could have
 made using the Ring?"

"Boy, were those screwed up..."

"Either you made a different one, or AKANE was the
one who found the Ring and made the wish."

"Why do I sense a disaster in the making?"

"Well, she could simply wish that she was a better
cook, but I think we know the odds on that, don't
we? Maybe she'd just wish that she'd never heard of
you, or that you'd go away forever."

"Considering it's a wish and not a shiatzu technique.
This could be _very_ bad."

"Maybe she'd just wish you'd be nice to her."

"Compulsive niceness? This could be _very_ _very_
bad."

"Well it's something to think about, isn't it?"

"You realize I'm going to have nightmares about
this..."

"I wish you'd grow up Ranma."

"AIIIIGHHHH."

"Oh silly me, did I still have that ring?"
