Chapter Six: "I Will Not Admit Defeat!"

Ranma woke up feeling uncomfortably damp. He got up and turned
on the light, realizing he was in his girl form because he had to reach
up to do it.
The futon had a large wet and warm patch in the middle, and his
shorts were soaked through at the bottom.
"Aw man, I didn't...I ain't done that in years...I..." The
embarrassment was too much, and Ranma started crying.
Everyone burst into the room and saw what had happened.
Nabiki looked like she was going to laugh herself sick. "You
haven't even got enough smarts not to wet the bed! Hahaha!"
"Now our families will never be joined!" wailed Souun as he
wept. Akane patted her father on the back, trying to calm him.
Ranma's father towered over him in rage. "How *dare* you
disgrace me like that!? Must I train you all over again?"
Ranma cowered, remembering how Genma had broken him of the habit
before. "Pweathe, Pop! Don' hit me! I'll be good!" His tongue felt
thick, getting in the way of his words.
Kasumi gathered Ranma to her chest protectively. "Honestly,
Uncle Saotome! Ranma-chan didn't mean to do it, it was just an
accident. Isn't that right, sweetie?" She was so warm and comfortable,
Ranma knew he was safe.
"Wight, Big Thithter Kathumi. You won' wet him hit me?"
"Of course not, Ranma-chan. You can't help being the way you
are." Then she yanked off his shorts and began wiping him dry, in front
of everyone!
	"Hey!"
"You don't want to get all icky, do you, honey?"
"Uhh..." Now she was dusting him with talcum powder.
"And I have just the thing for those little embarrassments,
Ranma-chan," Kasumi said as she laid him down and started wrapping cloth
around his loins. Nabiki was snapping pictures and giggling.
"A diaper? Big Thithter Kathumi, I don' wanna--"
"Oh my, and it's time for your 3 AM feeding, yes it is," cooed
Kasumi as she produced a baby bottle from nowhere.
Ranma opened his mouth to protest, only to have the nipple shoved
in. He started sucking, and delicious comforting warm milk flooded his
senses.
He fought off the feelings of helplessness and lassitude that
were overcoming him. Ranma pushed the nipple from his mouth, wriggled
out of Kasumi's arms, and spotted the hot water she'd used to warm the
milk.
He poured the water over himself, reverting to his normal form.
Somehow the diaper still covered him adequately. Ranma turned to Akane.
	"I'm not a baby girl! I'm a guy! A grown-up guy! You see that,
doncha?"
But Akane was still taller than him, and during the last minute
she'd put on makeup and an evening gown.
"You may be a boy, Ranma-chan, but you're still a child. I only
date *men*." She turned to a tuxedo-clad Kunou, who'd sprouted a full
beard, and kissed him. "Call me if you ever complete puberty."
	"Nooo!"

Ranma sat up, the scream dying on his lips. A quick look showed
that he was a guy, in the shorts he'd gone to sleep in, and the only
moisture was from his own sweat. Too many blankets for the weather.
	"Just a dream...yeah...only a dream..."

Kasumi was walking down a stone corridor lit only by torches.
She had a sword in one hand, and was dressed in a scandalously skimpy
armored outfit.
"This looks like one of those computer games the Yamane boys like
to play." She'd babysat the twins enough to know how these sort of
things usually went. There'd be some small monsters, then a big one,
after which was some kind of reward.
Sure enough, a whole platoon of dust bunnies came hopping down
the hall at her. Kasumi's sword turned into a broom, and she swept them
all away. She continued, and shortly the corridor widened into a
chamber.
It looked rather like the training hall, but done up in stone,
and with a cage at the far end. Kasumi couldn't see what was in the
cage, because there was a giant demon panda in the way. Her sword had
turned back into a sword, and the monster leapt at her.
Kasumi closed her eyes and shrieked, swinging her weapon wildly.
Other than a little anti-hentai defense Father had insisted on teaching
her when she hit puberty, she'd never had combat training, or wanted it.
Nevertheless, when she opened her eyes, she found she'd made a big
glowing cut across the panda's chest.
The monster roared and vanished in a burst of pyrotechnics.
Now she could see into the cage, and saw that Ranma was trapped
in there. For some reason, he was wearing a tiger-striped loincloth and
had horns on his head.
	"Ranma? Are you all right?"
He looked up. "Argle rraggh! Gimme arr heeh!" She couldn't
understand him because of his protruding fangs.
She shrank back a bit at his fearsome visage. She should free
him, but she didn't have a key. There didn't even seem to be a door to
the cage. Then Kasumi saw the bucket of water and knew what to do.
"Nuh! Krmeee, nuh tet!" protested Ranma, waving his clawed hands
in warning.
But Kasumi threw the water anyway. The oni-Ranma boiled away,
and Ranma-chan remained, clad in a knee-length white robe. Her face
glowed with a smile.
The little girl slipped between the bars and bowed to Kasumi.
"Thank you, Big Sister."
A door opened into the sunlight, and they walked out into a
grassy meadow filled with flowers.
	"Big Sister Kasumi?"
	"Yes, Ranma-chan?"
"Can I stay with you forever and ever? I love you soo much!"
	"Sure!"
"Oh look, it's Toufuu-papa!" The doctor was approaching with a
garland of posies.
"Will you marry me, Kasumi-chan?" he asked.
 	"Oh, yes!"
		*			*			*
Kasumi's sleeping face had a really big grin on it. She had no
intention of waking up any time soon.

Ranma continued pounding on his father all the way to the
breakfast table, despite the fact that they were both in cursed form so
his blows had about as much effect as an ant attacking an armadillo.
"Ranma! Stop fooling around, or we'll be late for school again!"
snapped Akane.
"Okay, okay..." he grumbled as he grabbed a teakettle and made
himself a little more presentable. Naturally, Genma stayed in his panda
form.
"Move over, you big lump! I need this food more than you do!"
Ranma's father grunted and pulled out a sign. [Show some
respect! I must be properly nourished when I start my new job!]
	"Job? Where, the zoo?"
[Certainly not! What do you take me for?]
Kasumi broke in with her cheerful sounding voice. "Akane, I
discovered this textbook is actually number two in a series. Could you
drop by Dr. Toufuu's this afternoon and exchange it for me?"
"Ah, well, I had other plans--"
"I thought you'd be glad to see hi--" put in Ranma, just before
Akane grabbed his ponytail and pulled him from the room.
"Ow! Whadja do that for?" Ranma noticed Akane wasn't letting
go, or slowing down much. It was all he could do to snatch his shoes and
bag on the way out.
"It's supposed to be a secret!" Akane snarled as she dragged
Ranma down the street. "Boys!"
Kasumi would have to be blind not to notice Akane's crush, Ranma
thought.
Of course, Akane could be pretty preoccupied herself, it seemed.
Ranma was having a lot of trouble running backwards fast enough to keep
up. It was even worse when then ran past the old lady with the ladle.
"Hey! Akane!" But the Tendou girl continued to ignore the now
much smaller Ranma. In fact, with the weight reduced, she was able to
pick up the pace.
When they reached the school, Akane finally whirled around and
said, "If you *ever* embarrass me like..." Then she looked down. "When
did you..."
	"Akane Tendou!"
Whoops. Apparently they'd both forgotten about the boys who
challenged Akane each morning. But there was something wrong today.
They were...crying?
"What do you want?" asked Akane edgily, going into a defensive
stance.
One of the boys was pushed forward. "We have decided...in light of
your engagement to Ranma...say, where is he? And who's the cute little
girl in the floppy clothes?"
	Ranma froze. What to do?
"Oh, this is Ranma-chan, she's staying with us. She likes
trading clothes with Big Brother Ranma, don't you, Ranma-chan?"
What was Akane up to? Ranma decided to trust her, and nodded.
"You know, Big Brother Ranma was really embarrassed when he found
your panties in his schoolbag yesterday. You shouldn't play jokes on
him like that." She winked as she was shaking her finger.
Oh. Now Ranma saw. "I'm sorry, Big Sister Akane. I hope Big
Brother Ranma gets here soon."
"So do I. Now, what were you saying, and I'm not engaged to
Ranma yet."
The spokesboy swallowed hard. "Given your *likely* engagement to
Ranma, and the fact that he easily beat Kunou, the best fighter at our
school, and the biggest pervert...well, we've decided to stand down so
that you can seek happiness together." A lot of the boys started crying
again.
"Hold!" came a familiar and unwelcome voice.
	"Upperclassman Kunou..."
The kendoist was swathed in bandages over all the areas not
covered by his clothing, but it didn't seem to slow him down.
"You have no doubt heard the pernicious rumor that Ranma Saotome
defeated me. But it is not true!" Kunou ripped the bandages from his
face, revealing the foot-shaped bruises there. "One blow or a hundred,
the Blue Thunder of Fuurinkan High never admits defeat!"
"Oh, give it *up*, Kunou," said Ranma, disgusted.
"Ohh, it is the cute little redheaded girl! How such a sweet
child can be related to such a blackguard--"
Ranma suggested that Kunou perform an action with his bokken that
was not only physically impossible, but actually illegal in Alabama.
Several of the more sensitive boys fainted. Most of the remainder looked
kind of green. Akane had turned beet red.
Kunou just stood there, apparently shell shocked. Ranma and
Akane walked past him into the building.
"You know, good little girls aren't supposed to know those kinds
of words."
"Since when am I a good little girl?"
