This idea was actually floated around a few months (at least) ago.
The poster even manged to sketch a good outline of the alternate
universe. The only difference was dumping the KS from the regular BGC
into that alternative instead of an SI.

That might have been me, although I don't know anything about an
outline...  Hey, is someone else actually doing this??

In the fullness of time.. I've got about a meg of story to write before I
use it.  (I've done around 300k so far..)
