Arthur Edwards e-mailed me about the King of Nerima
segment in 'The Pursuit of Happiness', outlining
a sort of 'what if the King of Nerima was a video game
made by NeoGeo' thing.

I found it kinda nifty.

I didn't quite agree with his lineups, and I was bored,
so I wrote up a little 'what if' of my own, assuming
there'll be a King of Nerima '99.

- Tea Time Team: Sentaro Daimonji, Satsuki, and monkey Sanae
 Showing the power of tea.

- Team Muhoshin: Ryo, Ryoko, Kyoko
 And Kyoko is far better than people think...

- The Masters: Genma, Soun, Happosai
 Because Happy wanted fun, and who better to drag
 into it than his old students?

- The Musk Dynasty Team: Herb, Lime, Mint
 To show the world the power of Musk. Ahem.

- The Heroic Trio:  Ranma, Ryouga, Mousse
 They've been the top martial artists in Nerima for 
 a solid year, and now...

- The REAL Heroic Trio: Akane, Ukyou, Shampoo
 Miffed at the egomaniacs the men have become,
 the ladies set out to prove they're not the
 only ones who can go out and beat down the town.

- The Golden Trio: Mikado, Asuza, Ryuuken (from
  Eric Jones' "Mikado Ichiban")
 While Ryuuken doesn't care for this setup,
 orders from the coach prod him otherwise...

- The Lucky Gods Trio: Kirin, Bishamonten, Monron
 Chopstick boy, the deadly polearm master, and
 the lady of the musical biwa enter to increase
 the fame and reputation of the 7 lucky gods
 school of martial arts

- Alternate Anything Goes: Kurumi & Natsumi Tendo, Ryuu Kumon.
 Because anyone practicing Anything Goes can't resist
 a challange... and Natsumi thinks Ryuu's a nice guy
 after all.

- Island Warriors: Toma, Sarotoru (monkey), Muu (dogman)
 For honor, for glory... and for Toma to see Kurumi again.

- Team Nemesis: Crepe Joe, Copycat Ken, The Dojo Destroyer
 Each has a grudge to settle against one of the others
 in the tournament.  Joe against Ukyou, Ken and the Destroyer
 against Ranma, and the Destroyer against Ryo as well.

- Team Kuno: Kodachi, Tatewaki, Sasuke
 As if they need a reason.

- The Unorthodox Team: Konatsu, Tanya Noori, Sensei Geiichi.
 Noori and Geiichi enter the tournament to restore the name
 and honor of the Unorthodox Weaponry School of Martial
 Arts.  Konatsu, Tanya's loyal companion, joins with
 them to make a complete team.

- The Magical Team: Magical Girl Kuruma, Sailor Moon,
  Magical Angel Sana.
 Cringe in fear, the horribly kawaii are here...

- The Mighty Mighty Fist of Stooge Team:
  Lai-Ri Ku-Lee Moh, Shen Pu, Uncle Joe.
 Proving that the way of the Three Masters is indeed
 the most righteous and unbeatable path.  NYUK!

- The Amazon Force: Cologne, Lin-Lin, Ran-Ran.
 With Shampoo temporarily on probation by the village,
 Cologne goes with the twins to show the world the might
 of the Amazons.
