Alright, I'm finally done with this. There is, however, a problem: it's
too big. It's just short of 66,000 words, or about 384K as a text file.
And as my pre-reader just pointed out to me, no one is going to read that
in one sitting. So...

What I need to know from you guys is, what's the fat that I can cut? And,
if I split this up into multiple chapters, how many should there be and
where should I make the incisions?

My apologies for dumping such a monstrosity on you. I hope *somebody*
finds the time to read it. If you do, please be on the lookout for stuff I
can delete. Though, unfortunately, some of the stuff that looks like fluff
is important foreshadowing for later. Like I said, please give me some
feedback on this. And of course, general C&C will also be appreciated.

P.S. I'm posting this with a beta version of WinPMail 3.0; let me know if
it winds up as funky MIME crap or something. (They just put in rich-text editing, so 
I'm apprehensive about having fully disabled it).
