I wrote this for me, then realized that what I had written went deeper,
like it always does (why can't I be like Pratchett?!) than I wanted to
go into SM. Consequently, I offer it to anyone who wants to use it,
manipulate it, etc, etc. I'd prefer that one person doesn't just grab
and say "Mine!," that it is for anyone, really and truly. 'Course, I
could still continue it myself, and reserve the right to do so
(especially since I would forget that I offered it in the first place,
trust me, given time, I'd forget my own name).
Major portions of this is based on a famous/infamous SM manga pic, that
shows the 4 generals of Endymion with their arms around a pretty
sailor.
I think it's pretty. Please tell me if you're going to write something
on this, so I can read how the story ends up. Treat it as if it was
yours, you don't need to credit me. I can usually identify my own
writings (though some of my early diary entries still puzzle me...who is
this A.R. I had a crush on in fifth grade?)
Sailormoon, show, characters, and other related stuff, are owned by
Takeuchi Naoko, and related companies. The line from Hamlet, by
Shakespeare, is public domain (to the gratification of many publishers
:) And, um, my spelling of the names isn't the best. I was sort of
winging it.
Enough talking! Er, writing...um, typing! Listen instead...

Let me tell you a sad, sad story. Once upon a time, in a place long
forgotten to most, there were five princesses. Each was the fairest of
the fair, the most beautiful of beauties. They came from every inner
planet save Earth, including that one that now lies just beyond the
asteroid ring, pushed there by the Great War, known as Jupiter, and that
silvery satellite, known as the Moon.
It was upon Earth, from which came no princess, that these maidens
found their loves. In the young General Jedite, whose blond hair and
blue eyes captivated, did the princess of Mars find her heart's mate.
When the red fire and blue ice meet, the fire must cool and the ice
needs melt, thus both are so touchable. The princess of Jupiter met her
match in General Neflite, for lo, like Orion the Hunter, Neflite did
love archery, and the warlike princess loved him. The gentle, quiet
princess of Mercury found that towards the gentle, yet strong, General
Zoicite, her heart did tend. They would walk among the palace gardens,
speaking of little nothings, yet meaning great everythings. The
volatile and fickle princess of Venus found herself entranced by the
remoteness of General Kunzite; various webs did she weave to entrance
him, yet he seemed to escape them all, until one day, they realized they
had caught each other, and all was light.
Though, to be sure, there was no princess of Terra, there was a prince,
and for him, his Generals would die, and die gladly. Though his
midnight blue eyes were captivated by the soft beauty of the princess of
the Moon, she won his heart through her eternal kindness, and love. And
she, she loved him without knowing why, without questioning. A creature
of the heart, not the head, she followed where it lead her, into the
arms of the brave prince.
To die, to sleep: to sleep, perchance to dream...
Then the Great War came, and all was torn asunder. The fighters on the
side of right and light fought valiantly, but all that is left of those
ancient kingdoms are ruins and fragmented memories of a time for lovers
long gone. In desperation, the Moon Queen sent her daughter's soul, and
the soul of those she loved, the four princesses, and the prince of
Terra, sent them away, and cast them into better days. She herself
remained behind, true to her kingdom to the last. She sealed the evil
forces away, but at the cost of her life, and the souls of those four
generals, severing the ties between them and the princesses forever...
But how long is forever?
