I'm reprinting the comments that I sent before because I see the same
problems.  

I read them then, and tried to take them into account for this revision.

Just like in part 1, I find major problems with plot and character
development.  Why does Ranma stay in female form all the time?

Contemplate the kind of mess that follows Ranma all the time.
Contemplate the kind of mess that swiching genders demi-randomly at a
research university could create.
Decide on a gender to be.

When did he stop regarding it as a curse?

Probably when Kasumi and Ukyou got a chance to knock some sense into the
child.

Why is Ranma so laid back?

Kasumi's influence?  Realizing that making a great big fuss never really
helped much?
Some combination of the above?

Is this really the same Ranma who never fails to make the wrong remark
at the worst time? 

He's failed occasionally.  Most of the time when he makes a really
stupid remark he's trying to hide something from himself, or piss
someone off.

  Why would anyone let three students without personal assets adopt a
child?  That is a much greater barrier than the question of gay or lesbian
parents.

Lessee, 1 successful restraunt or sales from such, a large house (which
they probably recieved as a wedding present to avoid the inheretance
taxes)
That strikes me as quite a bit of personal wealth amoung the three of
them.

And does Ranma realize that he has committed a  kidnapping when he
snuck Ariana out?  If she is ever tracked down, not only will Ranma,
and possibly Ukyou and Kasumu, face kidnapping charges, but they would
lose Makoto as well.

if convicted.  Your comment made me see it from other than Ranma's
perspective (where it is just the right thing to do) and realize that
Ranma'd have better sense than to state it so baldly.
(Conspiracy is so much fun.  Discussing one's plans to shoplift a
ten-cent piece of candy is a felony for all the participants ^_^ )

Also, I just don't see Belldandy and Keiichi agreeing to take her in
so readily.  The involvement of Belldandy (and her sisters) with a
mortal is highly unusual and creates so many problems with both gods
and demons that I don't see them exposing a child to the troubles that
arise from their situation.

It is no less safe than living with Ranma, and will provide a layer of
indirection should someone come looking for her.

Also, to take Ariana in is to risk letting her find out that Belldandy
and family are goddesses, a fact that has even been hidden from
Megumi, Belldandy's prospective sister-in-law.  

Belldandy is now Ranma's teacher in an esoteric martial art.  Anyone
who's seen Ranma fight will know that Belldandy is `just another weird
Martial Artist' and anything she does (just about) can be explained that
way.

  In summary, I simply was not able to suspend my disbelief.  

This may help.
I try to make sure that the story will stand on it's own without such
explanations, but sometimes they seem to be enoug to make others see
what is already there.
