Just a little something that I whipped up this afternoon.

"You're Mipsey, ne?"

The girl in question had been about to take her first bite into a
sandwich. Instead, she looked up into the eyes of what had to be one of
the cutest things on the planet. She would have called it a rabbit, if
rabbits could talk, came in pink and yellow, and had eyes that covered
fifty percent of their face. Its short, glossy fur looked soft to the
touch and shined with a low sheen. It's long, prominent, ears stuck up
about a foot from its head, before folding and drooping in a heart shape
to a foot below it's tail. And it was floating at face level, across
the table from her.

"Hi!" It said with a smile almost as big as its eyes. "I'm
Meru-meru-mono-bata, but you can call me meru-chan! You've been
selected to fight the forces of darkness that threaten to overwhelm the
Sugoi kingdom, and to help us find our lost princess, Ducky!" Still
smiling, Maru secretly wondered why she had been chosen as one of the
Sugoi Senshi. She certainly didn't fit the wholesome little girl image
that the other SS seemed to radiate. Indeed she looked positively
gothic, dressed in an all black dress, with a black rain hood, and black
hair. In fact it was really starting to annoy him how she seemed to
tilt her head down and her eyes forward so he couldn't see them through
her overhanging hair.

Mipsey looked around the caf at the other patrons.

"They can't see me." Meru said, in a conspirational whisper. "Please
consider it! Things are critical and we really need you! You get
really cool clothes, can do magic, and" he paused for emphasis, "you
get to have me as a sidekic"

Maru didn't have time to complete his recruitment speech. Mipsey had
casually reached behind her back, grabbing the stock of the sawed off
shotgun that the rabbit had somehow not noticed, and pointed it into the
bunny's face.

She unloaded both barrels, just to be sure, then shouldered the gun
after
calmly reloading it.

"Damn insects." She said, scowling at her sandwich. "Ruined my
appetite." She looked across the street at the bloody remains of the
rabbit. She thought about having it stuffed and put into her room, but
the thought of waking up to that pink and yellow monstrosity every
morning made her decide against it.

She pulled her hood over her head and walked out into the rain,
disappearing into the crowded streets.

    Mipsey, the magical-girl slayer.
