Certain figures from the Norse Pantheon, such as Thor, Odin, Idun, and
Loki, and characterisation of the same taken from the ancient legends of
Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Greenland.  Characterisations are as
of the Ballads written in the twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth
centuries with additional material from the Tale of Beowulf. 
Characterisations of Urd, Belldandy, Skuld, and Peorth have been taken
from the Manga series, Aa!  Megami Sama.  The characterisation of Ran is
based upon the training legend of the Aesir.

1.  Is "Ran"'s real name "Ranma"? "Ran" as in "Orchid" or is it is just a
clipped version of "Ranma" due to Genma's inconvenient timing of his
death? 

     Her original name of birth is Saotome Ranma.  The only name she
remembers or knows is Ran.  She does not have a family name.  Her name
came about due to Genma's untimely death. 

2.  IF the name IS Ranma, why don't the godesses know the real name...they
are goddesses with a "super-frame", right? 

     Well, Urd was so excited she never checked into Ran's name, and with
Skuld running around trying to keep her out of trouble, and Belldandy
splitting her duties as best she could at the time, it did not come up. 
Eventually they forgot about it, especially since Ran was no longer a
Mortal. 

3.  What's the problem with Ranma's memory? 

     There isn't a problem with Ran's memory.  She was too young to
remember her father. 

4.  At what age was "Ran" adopted by Urd? Seems much younger than when the
official Ranma manga/TV show starts. 

About three months after she was taken from home by Genma. 

5.  Why didn't they just remove "Ran's" curse? It is within their power to
do so, right? Or at least give Ran a better way to control the effects. I
assume Ran has spells to keep water from splashing on her at bad times. 

     Ran's abilities are the result of trying to control a certain
instability that she gained due to her fathers incompetance.  The
instability was what brought Urd to that section of Japan in the first
place. 

6.  Did Ran ever go to Jusenkyo? 

     Ran has never been to Jusenkyo or exposed to the waters of Jusenkyo. 

7.  Why is Ran practising Martial Arts?  Without her father wouldn't she
be less enthusiastic? 

     According to the training legend of the Aesir, all of the Aesir
Dieties who populated Asgard had to be trained as warriors before the
coming of Ragnoarok.  It was explained in the intoduction.  Well, the
second part of the introduction. 

8.  Why do all of your stories have people turning into girls? 

     Only in Ranma stories, and only when they fit or by request only. 
For instance, in A Son's Duty, Ranma becomes Ranko extremely reluctantly
and only because of his mother being there.  In An Alternate History of
The Bubblegum Zone, I did not touch upon a person changing sex, except in
the most obscure way.  In Sailor Moon P, no one changes sexes.  I admit
that in An Alternate History of Ranma 1/2 there is that theme, but it is
only so that they can get out of the engagement.  In An Alternate History
of Sailor Moon, it is not really touched on, but due to who Usagi's cousin
is, it is there.  And that leads us to Ranko's life, which was a requested
story that I took up. 
     Also I believe that people are looking to me for stories that I do
not influence.  The main person behind Clothes Make The... is Nicholas
Liefker, not myself.  I am following the outline he put together more than
a year ago.  Besides, he is one of the masters of the written word,
definately improving everything that I write in that and other series. 

9.  Was Ranma originally a boy in this story? 

     Yes, but her real sex is now female thanks to Genma. 

10.  Can you explain why, or add a scene that explains why Genma refers to
Ran as his daughter? 

     That scene will come in a future chapter.  It is not coming very soon
however, as that is not part of the plot line in the first ten chapters. 

11.  Why are there two spelling for the World Tree? 

     One represents the World Tree itself, and the other represents the
Computer System. 

12.  Why does Akane refer to Ranma as her cousin? 

     Explained in Chapter Two. 

13.  Where did Genma die? 

     In Japan. 

14.  Why was Urd in that region anyways?  What could possibly be enough to
bring her from Asgard to that area in time to take care of Ran? 

     Genma was his usual foolish self and used an old scroll and an object
which caused an unusual release of energy.  Urd was responding to that
release of energy. 

15.  What is Akane's history without Ranma being around? 

     Is that a story request I hear? 

16.  When did Ran learn of Keiichi's identity. 

     She's not stupid. 

     Who do you think she is?  Ranma? 

17.  Who or what is the priest Belldandy mentions? 

     Check the Manga.  The priest was the original occupant of the temple. 

18.  Since when does Skuld go to NIT? 

     This is based upon the original stories, but is NOT the original
story.  Her performance during the Robot Wars was observed by the
professors and teachers at NIT and she was offered a scholorship. 

19 Your time frame is hard to pin down. Either it's too early for Peorth
to show up or she's long gone by now (she didn't stay for more than a few
days anyway) 

     This is a different storyline... 

20.  You fell for that fake info about Peorth being the Norns' aunt. 

     This is a different storyline... 

     I wonder.  If others are allowed to change parts of the histories in
the comics, why can't I? 

21.  Considering the fact that you are quite certainly using the manga,
you must be aware that Anoshima's club has ceased to exist by this time. 

     Yes, but certainly you are aware that Servers and Web Pages do not
disappear easily.  By your logic, all the Ranma pages should be long gone
since the series is over. 

22.  And Keiichi isn't that notorious at NIT. 

     (looks at her hand and starts counting...) 

     Reputation as a cross-dresser... 
     Winning impossible races.... 
     Dating the most sought after girl on campus... 
     Having a sister and future sister in law involved in a major event... 
     Betting that is going on behind his back all the time about him.... 
     
     (fills up one hand of fingers and about to start on the other...) 

     Various clubs that keep information on him... 
     People wondering what weird thing Morisato will do next... 
     Competitors from near and far following his racing reputation... 
     Seems to be the focus for a lot of the events on campus.... 
     Speculation runs rampant as to how he does things... 

     (looks around for another hand...) 

     You know, this could continue for several pages.... 

23.  How old is Ran?  Is she 20 or 14? 

     Ran is 20 years old, but looks like a 12 year old Mortal physically. 
She likes to try to make herself look a little older at times. 

24.  And what do you think Urd's apparent age is, 36? She's only 25 tops. 

     Hmmm...... 

     13 + 12 = 36?!? 

     I think that the apparant age of 25 is correct.
