First, I'd like to beg forgivness for writing this letter, White Wolf.
I've recently been inundated by letters from various members of the list
who have been trying to get in touch with me over one matter or another,
and I'm having a little trouble dealing with it piecemeal. This is faster.
As for the reason I'm writing this letter, well.. most of you know of, or
have heard of my recent "stroke" last January. Why have I put stroke in
quotes? That's why I'm writing.
My doctor send me to a neurologist, who examined me, and was suspicious of
my symptoms. He ordered me to take a Magnetic Resonance Imaging scan. I
took it last Thursday, the 2nd, and got the following results.
(Quoted from the copy of the official diagnosis Dr. Ewing gave me for my
personal records.)
"Conclusion: There is a focal right parietal hemispheric abnormality with
the appearance of a cerebritis. There are also scattered areas of deep
white matter increased signal intensity involving both cerebral hemispheres
and the pons. The differential diagnosis of the cerebritis-type pattern
would include MS and probably viral infections."
Dr Ewing feels that, in his professional opinion, I have, in increasing
order of severity:
1) A viral infection of the brain.
2) My rheumatoid arthritis has spread to my brain.
(An immune system malfunction)
3) Multiple Sclerosis.
As a result, sometime this week or next, I will be going in for a spinal
tap to determine which of these is actually the case.
This has been occupying my thoughts recently, and I've noticed that I'm
not paying as much attention to my fanfic, or my friends here on the list
and on the internet. I'd like to apologize for that right now.
I _will_ try my utmost to finish off all of my obligations, despite my
current state of mind, and if you've written me recently and haven't
received an answer, it's probably due to my current preoccupation with my
situation. If that IS the case, and I haven't responded to your letters,
please contact me again, directly. If your mailer supports setting email
priority, as Eudora does, please feel free to set the priority of your
emails to the highest level. I'll read them before I read anything else.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it.
