I haven't written poems in a long time.  I just got the inspiration for this
because lately I've been disgusing poetry.  Sorry if this sucks.
I'd like to sort of dedicate this to Luigi Mattera.  He's inspired me and
he's a really good person.  He got me started on poetry again because I read
the poetry on his web page =)

Caring Hurts

Loving someone is like saying
I care enough to be in pain for you
There are no new words for love
Everyone has said them before
We are hard pressed for creativity
But nothing new comes to mind
Said with feeling, I love you
It can mean many things
Words so easily said, easily faked
Love is hard to believe in these days

Broken hearts left and right
Where are the happily ever afters?
Silly me, life is no fairy tale
Things would be too fun that way
I whisper to you sweet words
They come to me when I'm sleeping
That I remember then in the morning
Is as much a miracle as our love
Does having a happy ending mean
That it all has to end?

I look into your deep, dark eyes
I lose myself in them without a fight
I can feel the tug on my heart
So this is what caring is like
It hurts in the best ways
It pulls my heart apart
But lifts it up at the same time
Like the release of tears
It feels better before its gone
If love is like tears, may I forever mourn
