Are you familiar with the idea of ASKING someone before you put them into
something?  I'm not pleased with this.

It doesn't matter if it's "only" a songfic.  John's point is quite valid.
Using real-life authors without permission is rude.  What might be "only a
songfic" to one person might be something rude and offensive to someone
else.

For my part, I didn't mind.  If I'd been asked, I'd've given permission
easily.
