One Hundred Percent Woman Chapter 3
by Mark Doherty (mdoherty@uq.net.au)

TEASER

It's been a while(about six months), and I eventually just stopped answering
the question 'When is this going to get written'. But now, I'm back in the
Ranma mood, and here's a small snippet of the result.

Remember, in this story the pronouns are from perspective, which is why
Ukyou is not called she, and why Ranma remains he when he is in girl form.

Coming soon, Chapter 3 of One Hundred Percent Woman:

++++++++++++++++

He sighed, stretching back on the thin futon so that his back rested
against the scratchy, flaked surface of the badly painted wall. He pulled
his knees up to his chest, using them as an impromptue table for the diary
he held in one hand.

"The sixth of June," he said, scribbling in the book. He'd never really thought
about why he talked when he wrote in the diary - he'd never thought about why
he kept a diary in the first place. Maybe... could be... it's just...

He sighed, nibbling the end of the pen as he stared up at the low ceiling.

Maybe it was just that as long as he could keep a diary, as long as he could
still write down his dreams and hopes, then he still had dreams and hopes to
write. Maybe he said it out loud to reassure himself that his dreams were
still there. Maybe as long as he could fantasise, he wouldn't be totally alone.

++++++++++++++++

Onna-Ranma clung to the windowsill, his ears straining to catch Ukyou's words.
I'm not spying, I'm not spying... Just... just showing a bit of friendly
concern, that's all. Yeah.......... Hey, I wonder if she'll take her clothes
off again?

He shook his head, trying to banish the errant thought. Where the hell did
that image come from!? So it happened last time I tried this, so what? It
must be this body giving me the pervert thoughts, maybe I fell in the spring
of drowned lesbian girl or somethin'...

.......... Hey, that'd be almost... what's the word... _ironic_.

++++++++++++++++

"Diary," so clipped, so impersonal for a start. No 'Dear', no warm words
to make the pen flow. But it was so hard to make the effort to be happy...
so hard, especially when an effort had to be made in the first place.

"I just don't know what to do. Everyday I start to go after him, to attack,
to talk, to do _something_, _anything_... but I hesitate. I can't go away
either, that would eat away at me if I did. I feel like... like... like
I don't know. I just don't know."

++++++++++++++++

A pigeon cooed as it began to build a nest on Onna-Ranma's head. After a few
vigorous shakes of his head had failed to dislodge the bird, he had tried to
ignore it. He couldn't afford to make too much noise, with Ukyou... hating...
him again, she probably wouldn't like finding him out here.

The pigeon, apparently, had finished construction of the toilet area of its
new domicile, and was taking it out on a 'test run'.

Aw man! This never happened to the cool spying martial artists in all the
stories Pop's told me over the years...

++++++++++++++++

"Maybe it would have been easier if, after the last time Ranma abandoned me,
that Dad hadn't insisted on 'making me more of a man'." Ukyou shook his head
as he closed the diary. He stood, and walked over to the small wardrobe. He
pulled a set of pyjamas out of a drawer, and plopped them down on the futon.

"Maybe," he mused as he stripped out of his work clothes, turning side-on to
the window, "I shouldn't have agreed to becoming a boy in more than legal
documents."

He looked down at his naked body for a moment before he reached for his
pyjamas. "Maybe I shouldn't have agreed to the sex-change operation. Not
exactly a hundred percent woman anymore now..."

He shrugged, ignoring the usual background night noises of a startled,
strangled scream that was shortly followed by a thud.

++++++++++++++++

Nabiki looked at a pale and trembling Ranma. Maybe he was coming down with
something. It certainly sounded like he was from the insane request he had
just made.

"You want to buy a picture of Akane's what!?"

"Her... you know. Well, she had a washcloth over that area that one time, and
I really, really need to be sure that she's... er... nevermind."

Nabiki edged slightly away from the martial artist. I think I prefered it when
we thought you were gay...

Back to the drawing board I guess...

Do you know what I hate most about April Fools Day? It's the way it brings
out the bastard in everyone... ;P

Emerald looked at the Senshi, his eyes blazing like fire. "I hate you,"
he pointed to Sailor Venus, "and you," his outstretched finger turned to
Sailor Jupiter, "and you and you, not to mention your little dog Toto too,
and you... wait, I already pointed you out. Oh well, I hate you twice
over. And as for YOU..." he turned to Sailor Moon, his lips curled in a
snarl at the discovery of her 'queenly' heritage, "you I truly, truly...
mildly dislike." He shrugged at their quizical expressions, and said "Well,
everyone runs out of hate sooner or later," before he turned and walked
away, muttering something about cancelling the self-help classes that he had
been
attending.
