Hi! H. (that can't be right)

I thought this up as a good natured little poke at Mr Barnes'
entire MWMW/CWCW continuity setup (summary: Ranma and Akane love each
other, but are running a scam on everyone to keep their fathers from
forcing them into marriage too early).

Poking fun is good. It's even better when it's actually funny, like this.

Personally, I think the little
setup below is about as possible as the one Barnes put together (no
offence, but managing to con _everyone_!?!).

Well, it's more of a conclusion drawn from the original story. The logic
goes like this: It's fairly easy to imagine what would happen if the secret
of the masquerade got out... lots and lots of property damage and probably
some severe physical injury as well. According to the canon story that
didn't happen. Therefore, the secret _was_ kept and they did con everyone.
Working out all the details will be left as an exercize for the student.

 *BUT*

I like that little bit that Shampoo interjected in your story about how her
Greatgrandmother _knew_ this couldn't be happening, therefore there was no
need to even look for it, and so on. I _really_ like that. I may even
shamelessly steal it... well, I'd give credit, but I still might steal it.
It's a _good_ idea.

That being said, now that I think of it the general setup (as
opposed to the details) below could in fact be mutually compatable with
Barnes' basic idea. And no, I have no plans to continue it.

I think you're right, and the irony would be excruciatingly intense,
wouldn't it?

HTG (Ducking into Mega-Mallet Proof Bunker just in case)

No mallets coming from this direction. I like this story very much, indeed.

[Bigus Snippus -- just for space you should understand.]

As things rapidly degenerated from there on the futon, in a
shadowed corner of the loft an extra chair whimpered in heartbroken
disbelief.

Looks like Tsubasa might have a quick rinse and set with a bit of firm
cranial pressure point massage in his future, eh?

What a good way to make a point. Write a story. It'd be great if more folks
would do it this way, eh? Thanks for sharing it.

Best,

Bob Barnes
