Seraphim's Judgment:
Aftermath

Date: September 15, 2048
Exerts From the Diary of Reina Ayanami

After the whole thing with Tokyo-3, everyone in NERV seemed to have
went their own ways. The Ikari went into government to try and stop
everything that had been concerned with the EVAs, Angels, and so on.
Fuyutsuki went back to the college in the north where he once taught.
Misato, now without her resolve to kill the angels, just goes from job
to job as a temporary worker, that woman still disgusts me with how much
she drinks. Ritsuko went to Kyoto and started a small computer company
that started to put all the other ones to shame.

One thing that I do note is that Yui was talking with an older woman
with some bundle over her shoulder and a power that I couldn't define. I
overheard Yui giving the woman the locations of the productions plants
of the EVAs. I wondered why until the next day, I heard on the news that
several factories worldwide were attacked and destroyed. It looks like
Yui sunk to the point to hire some terrorist to destroy the EVA plants.
Looks like she got her wish. If it means I can forget Tokyo-3 even
better, then I'm happy.

Shinji, Rei, Kooriichi, Asuka, Touji, and myself continued school.
Shinji went on to gain a scholarship in music which paid his whole
tuition and still plays that blasted instrument. Rei's ability to draw
and paint only got better and got quite a bit of recognition and money
for some of her abstracts of how the likes of Zuruel and Armisael
looked.

Shinji and Rei both agreed that it would be better if they
finished college first if they wanted to know what it would be like to
spend the rest of their lives together. Shinji's not a bad guy, I just
don't like him.

Touji didn't get as far as Shinji did in terms of academics, but he did
adequately enough to become a regional manager of some company called
the Solar Moon. He works for the relief of others now and he still does
it, even then Asuka still likes the guy. Asuka on the other hand has
been busy putting older laws of physics to shame, and has made quite a
few enemies in the world of science. If she ends up dead because of her
truths, I won't mourn or be surprised. Mankind has yet to grow in my
opinion.

Kooriichi most likely ended up the most humble of all. After high
school, she didn't even bother to go to college. Instead, she started to
work as a mechanic, even after she was several years ahead of her
physical time in terms of knowledge. I have no idea what possessed her
to do that. She told me that she doesn't worry and neither should I.
Even though she's only a fourth angel, she can still protect herself
with an AT Field and communicate with me and Rei. So she still keeps in
touch.

I didn't even bother to go to college, after high school, I worked for
a little while to buy a back pack, some outdoor tools, and things of the
like. And once I was ready, I strayed away from all cities and just
traveled around the world. I won't even kid myself, I don't like people.
I never had, never do, never will. I tolerate my sisters, I just plain
don't like the other Children, and I hate everyone else.

Too many men, too many people, making too many problems. Let them kill
themselves for all I care. The only reason why I even go near cities is
for family. The last time I saw the First and Third Children was when
Shinji, Rei, Kooriichi, and their son Kaworu went to the original
Kaworu's grave in about '29.

Shinji held little Kaworu as Rei placed a single rose on the grave.
Showing that she had forgiven Kaworu/Tabris for everything he did. After
that, Shinji put his son on the ground, walked to the grave, pulled out
a piece of paper and started to read from it.

Your leaving made us feel alone,
even as you felt alone when you left
Are you still alone now or surrounded by the Angels?
Were you really the lucky one who got out,
Or do you burn, and pray to return?
Did you know you could never come back?
You brought the ugliness out in the open,
What terror did you feel?
You made us feel for the first time in ages, You reminded us how
Made us remember hurt and pain and love
The blackness finaly got to you
And it seemed no one cared
Or felt a damn thing
Your leaving has left an empty place in all of us
No matter how much or how little we knew of you
Did you know that we all loved you,
Even those who hardly knew you?
You touched us all,
You were gold if only for a moment
And we loved you
And we miss you
And now we feel

I learned later that it was a pre-Second Impact poem called 'For a Lost
Friend'. I'm surrounded by sentimental fools! I tried to gag from the
sentiment, but those words were too powerful and I was crying myself. Of
course, Kooriichi berated me on my behavior and I ignored her and went
on my way again.

A few years earlier, Onee-san told me of Touji and Asuka's engagement.
They had broken up twice and got back together and with the same excuse.
'They couldn't stand anyone else'. It wasn't really one or the other's
fault they broke up twice, they just needed to grow up a bit. Like that
will ever happen.

The last time I saw the other two Children was when little Kaworu was
born. It was a little more than obvious to me that Asuka and Touji were
sleeping with each other and before they were married.

I confronted Asuka on this and she simply smirked and retorted that I
was jealous that I didn't have anyone. Words cannot convey how tempted I
was to wrap my hands around that neck of hers and squeeze until her head
popped like a balloon or snap her neck like a piece of celery.

Yet, it looked like I inadvertently got my revenge against Asuka about
a year or so after she was married. Turns out that the legacy of the EVA
wouldn't let it's children get off so easily. Asuka wasn't able to get
all of the LCL out of her system and as the years went by, it went
stagnant and developed into a rather deadly cancer. She was fortunate,
the only organs affected so far were her reproductive ones. She had to
stay in the hospital for three whole months for treatment. And it got
worse when I heard that they had to be killed or else the cancer would
spread.

Even though she returned to being normal within a few months or
so, she would never bear children. It hit her pretty hard, from what
Onee-chan told me.

I don't know, nor care, how Touji felt about this. Yet, I still
continue to hear a nagging in the back of my head that cries for Asuka.
I will admit this. The pain she went through makes me feel sorry for
her. No one deserves such a fate. And the reason why Rei was spared was
because of her genes being one half angel, therefore making her immune
to the effects of the LCL.

I stopped making contact with Kooriichi and Rei about '35. The reason
being that I just wanted to be alone. I like it that way. I only hear
the sounds of nature, not that of the machinery of man. Kooriichi asked
me if there was anything and anyone that I didn't hate. Total and
complete silence. That's something I don't hate.

Date: February 25, 2056

It's amazing how time can change people. If I told myself I would be
this way ten years ago, I wouldn't have believed it.

About 2048, I heard something that sounded like a wail. I was in the
mountains of northern China at the time, I heard from an old Amazon by
the name of Mu Tsu that when the Impact occurred, they saw a light crash
into the mountains several hundred miles north of their village. Since
it was a wail that only people that had Angel genes could hear, I
decided to investigate.

It was three days into walking that I encountered something I thought I
never would again. An AT Field. There was another angel here. Using what
kinetic power I had, I pushed the rocks from a cave opening at the foot
of one of the large ones. The wails got louder and louder the farther
inside I got and that was when I found him.

With pale brown hair, skin that resembled Kaworu's, my sisters', and my
own, malnourished body, and in torn remnants of clothing, was a crying
Angel. His skin felt as cold as ice when I touched his shoulder. When he
turned to me, I felt odd. Like his gentle red eyes were boring into my
own and into my soul.

"You... you are like me... yet you are not. Why?" he said hoarsely.

I came to my senses and helped him up. If this was who I thought it
was, I needed Kooriichi's help.

It was several months before I could locate my sister, and I found that
she nor Rei had chosen to live the same way I did. Kooriichi had grown
considerably and she looked twice as old as I did. Even though she had
grown older, her powers of an angel had grown as well.

I thanked God that Kooriichi didn't hold any grudge against me, in
fact, I don't think that she even cared when she saw my companion. Her
powers of the mind had grown to exceed my own and she was able to reach
into the other angel's mind after we brought him back to health.

He was at one time, a boy by the name of Jeremy Feeple. He was in
reality, Nefesh Avood, the Lost Soul. The one that all the other angels
were looking for, other than Adam. We learned that Jeremy had a family,
friends, a home, but when the Second Impact occurred, his angel side
emerged. Because of his emergence, the Impact only got worse. When all
the people in the North Pole and the people around started to die
because of the blast, his mind snapped and all the power he had
exploded, making it many times worse.

The reason why he hid was that he knew the others would come for him.
Also, he felt guilty for causing the secondary blast that helped kill
the 2 billion plus people. With his past revealed, Kooriichi became
uneasily silent for a long time. The reason why was that she could feel
the power of all the other fifteen angels in him. Turns out that when an
angel, in the pursuit of Adam was killed or died, its power was
transferred to him.

I am not sure how that was done, but I too can feel their power as
well. Whether Nefesh knows it or not, he has become even more dangerous
than before.

That was when Kooriichi told me that I had to take care of him and stay
away from cities. The reason was that there was a few followers of SEELE
that had found about how to commence the Third Impact. What they didn't
know was that Lillith and the Lancea were gone and couldn't make another
one if they wanted to. But they were still persistent about making
another impact and 'saving' the human race.

She knew this because she met these men. Yet the reason why she
still was living was because the concentration of angel genes wasn't
high enough. Rei was safe enough with Shinji, but I was not and neither
was Nefesh. So, I left my sister again.

The months that followed proved to be the most interesting. When
Nefesh/Jeremy got all of his memories back, he remembered how there was
a girl by the name of Asrial that he had strong feelings for, but she
was killed in the Second Impact. I surprised myself by wishing I was
that girl. He too was surprised, because on our way back to Kooriichi's,
he got more than an earful about how I felt about mankind.

We started to train ourselves in the way of our power, it was a very
slow and painful process. We did our best to remain anonymous, but when
you accidentally tear apart an entire valley with a misplaced shot, you
want to get away from that place as soon as you can.

I don't know how to describe that warm feeling you get when you see
someone you happen to have strong feelings for. At the beginning of
2050, I couldn't help but start thinking of only him. He was kind,
gentle, patient, and trustworthy. I never felt this way before, and he's
an angel at that. Not the kind of angels that attacked Tokyo-3, but the
real kind of angel. That's what's he's been to me.

I won't go into details about what happened a few months later, the
reason is why is... well, it's not easy to explain. And... about mid
year, I discovered I was pregnant. We both knew it was going to happen,
but we went ahead and did it anyway. It was also when we decided to stay
in a town so that our own offspring could grow up the way I did not. I
was rather reluctant at first, but when he promised he would be there
for me, I let got of my grudges and left the open paths.

I was able to communicate with Rei and Kooriichi again. To say they
were surprised to hear that their bitter, bad-tempered, and just plain
mean imouto was happy and having a baby. They wouldn't be able to see
the child, the father, or myself in person, but they could see using my
eyes. That is how much more powerful my sisters have gotten.

We didn't know what to name our son when he was born. Out of all the
names we chose Hikari or Abraham were the best two choices we thought
of. Hikari inevitably won out. Either way, he was one of the best things
that happened to me, other than Nefesh of course.

The reason why I say 'was', is because we lost him when he was only
four years old. A terrorist group that used us in the town as hostages
destroyed our home and separated me from my child. In all the chaos, I
never found him, neither did Nefesh. After the whole incident, we
continued to look for him for the next two years, but had no luck at
all.

Now, my chest hurts because I lost one of the most important things in
the world to me. Nefesh and my son was all that I wanted in the world,
where as the baby and I were the only things he ever wanted. But now, we
never will know what happened to our son and he may be dead or growing
up somewhere without knowing who his true parents are. I can only hope
that if we find him, he will be a good enough man that can forgive me
for not being able to protect him the way I should have.

A request from Koorichi startled me as Nefesh and I were on the western
coast of the Australian outback. With every new message it got just as
urgent. When we finally got there, I was almost shocked to see how much
older Kooriichi got, but I kept reminding myself that she chose to live
this way.

Kooriichi had a dream, an all too real dream. She saw a darkness from
beyond the stars, a hatred so great that it consumed anyone that got
near it, and people in the millions dying.

"You and Nefesh must leave this planet. If you don't, then another
impact will occur and I highly doubt mankind will come back from this
one." Koorichi said tossing formalities aside.

"If we have to, ok, but how? I mean, Nefesh and I just can't fly into
space. And why can't we just stay on the O.R.S. when it's complete?" I
retorted.

"Think imouto, the darkness will attack that first and everyone on the
ring will die. Including you and Nefesh! And don't worry about getting
off planet, I've already made arrangements with a friend of mine to give
you and Nefesh transportation to the colony that they plan to establish
on Io." She said with a smirk.

"You have contacts? I thought that..."

"You thought wrong imouto. Go to the airport tonight, I've arranged a
plane for you two to head to Florida where the transport will take off.
You'll meet a woman by the name of Serena Shields and she'll make sure
you two get on board."

I was shocked. Kooriichi thought of everything and I didn't even do
anything nice to her to give her cause to do this. I was speechless.
"You can be a bitch sometimes imouto, but you're my sister nonetheless
and I love you." She said chuckling at the glare I gave her.

Yet, as I left, I gave my sister the only hug that I can ever recall.
In fact, it was the only time I ever hugged her. "Arigatou, Onee-chan."
I whispered into her ear. She smiled back and kissed my cheek like any
sister who knew more than she let on.

	"Doitashimashite, imout-chan."

The following years passed by slowly. I also learned what became of our
son. As fate plays its games with us, I found that my son had been
renamed Edward Jamison and grew to have an impressive military record,
but threw it away when he joined a subsidiary of the Solar Moon called
the Space Knights Research and Development.

I was proud of how far he had gotten, but it hurt to see him as a grown
man, not at all knowing of where he came from, not being able to raise
him ourselves. It hurt to see him, so I knew that he would be able to
take care of himself. But it still hurt to remember the fact that I had
a son that turned out differently because of fate's sick sense of humor.

Nefesh and I considered trying to have another child and with our
growing power, I tried something I have never done before. I tried to
communicate with my sister on Earth, but I wasn't able to reach far
enough. With Nefesh's help I was able to see Onee-chan just the other
day. She was just as old as I expected her to be, but smiled at seeing
me again.

"Do I look so old to eyes so young?" she asked looking at the rain
outside.

Not wanting to make the situation worse, I said, "Onee-chan, no you
don't."

She chuckled as she leaned on her cane, walking to her bed, "I am
actually. Time comes regardless of what we do." She got onto her bed and
looked back to me.

"So, Onee-chan, how are the others?" I asked, hoping for the best.
Instead, I got the worst.

"Shinji passed on eighteen years ago and Rei passed on a few months
later. Touji and Asuka died of heart failure three years after Shinji
and Rei did. Little Kaworu is a grandfather himself now. Life goes on
Imouto-chan." she said before she started to cough violently. "I also
had another vision. In the distant future, you will be there, aiding
lights from the planets, and you will be with the Children once more. In
the distant future."

"How do you know all this?" I asked worriedly. "I mean, they won't be
reborn again. They've served their purpose."

She shook her head, "No, only now do I realize that their purpose has
yet to be completed. For all I know, I may be there as well. As well as
Yui-san, Edward-san, and Kyoko-san. The purpose of the Evangelion has
yet to be completed." She paused to curl her bed sheets about her, "Now,
it is time that I rest."

That was when I started to get fearful, "Onee-chan, you can't die.
Please."

She smiled again, "Who said I was going to die? This body may vanish,
but I will be watching you imouto... as does Rei... You... will never...
be alone imouto-chan... remember that...."

The last of the Second Impact generation was gone when Kooriichi's eyes
closed for the last time.

Date: In the distant future.
Location: Remnants of Southern America

Sayo Ibuki loved mountain climbing. She could see everything for miles
around when she got to the top. It was a sight that most people missed
in these times. Well, most people were too busy repairing the damages
from the Juraian Civil War that ended only the year before.

She sat on a large platform, pulled out a radio from her backpack, and
turned it on, "Hey Sam. You there?"

"I hear you Sayo, you there yet?"

"Not yet, but seeing this makes me wish you were here."

"For crying out loud! Don't you ever get sick of heights?"

"Of course not! It wouldn't be fun otherwise."

	"Yeah, whatever and... what the?"

	"What?!"

"There's... there's something, something coming from the sky. You
should be able to see it!"

Sayo looked up to see what looked like a very lean human shaped and
very large machine. It was colored dark purple, had a very large horn on
its demon shaped head, and a pair of long plates going up from its
shoulders. It crashed into the valley below and made quite an explosion.
Sayo had to hold on to the side of the wall she was sitting on to keep
from falling off.

Sayo's eyes widened at seeing the giant machine make such a crater.

	"Sayo! Sayo! You still there?"

"Yeah, but what was that thing?"

	"Got me."

	"I'm gonna check it out."

"Are you crazy?!" Sam screamed from the other line.

"It'd be crazy to not find out just what crashed here." She said back,
indignant.

Half an hour later, she reached the side of the giant fifty-foot
monstrosity that lay face down on the ground. Touching the sides of the
plating and found it to be rather cool, despite the great amount of heat
it probably gathered on reentry. Walking up, she was amazed at whoever
could have built such a thing.

Nearing the head, she noticed that a few plates behind the head opened
up, and from a black apparatus from beneath the plate, semi-ejected a
large white plug with the numbers Unit-01 on its side. Walking beside
the plug, she noticed that a few more plates opened up at the front of
the plug. Looking inside, she noticed a seat and module in the center.
And on the seat itself, wrapped in a simple white cloth, a baby boy with
brown hair slept peacefully.

The End

[Warhammer comes out for the last time]
WH: Reina was always an interesting character to me. I don't know why.
But I wanted to do something that put her in the spotlight, very much
like I did with Kaworu in the Shinji's Angels arc. Also, just because
she's hooked up with Nefesh doesn't mean she's gonna be nice to everyone
now. She's still going to be mean old Reina.

The lyrics Shinji used came from a poem called For A Lost Friend by
Sabrina Murraine. Don't be surprised if you haven't heard of her, I
found this poem on the net and liked it so much that I used it. And
permission has been asked for and given to use the poem.

I really didn't know what possessed me when I chose the professions of
some of the people. Since there was nothing left for the EVA to do, I
figured they would all go and live lives as if EVA never happened to
them. If you're confused, raise a hand now.

The Touji and Asuka relationship is going to be in a fic that I won't be
able to get to write for a LONG time. I intend to base it on the Phil
Collins song, 'Separate Lives'. If you haven't already guessed, those
two have the rockiest relationship out of all the relationships I've
done in a fic. And it's going to be exciting... once I get to it that
is.

I don't know why I was cruel to Asuka when I did that whole LCL thing,
but like Reina said, fate plays sick jokes on us.

For those of you who have been around in the US manga areas, you'll
recognize Jeremy Feeple from Ben Dunn's Ninja High School. One of the
few GOOD US based mangas, ever written. Also, I consider him to be a
better character than Tenchi and Ranma. The reason being that he
actually has a backbone, he's not indecisive, and he doesn't have any
kind of martial arts prowess or super alien power hidden in his genes.
He's a regular nice guy, nothing more or less. That's why I think higher
of him more than fem-boy or Tenchi.

And Teknoman fans will know who Jamison and the events that happened in
Koorichi's vision are. For those of you who don't; Jamison is the pale
skinned, red eyed commander of the Space Knights, the organization that
assists the Teknoman in his story line.

I won't reveal anything major concerning what you saw at the ending,
but they will play quite a role in the mega xover I will write a LONG
time from now. And BTW, Yes that is Maya's descendant and I know how she
is, so don't give me any crap about it. Trust me, something happened.

	Until my next fic folks.
