In the theater....

  Brian: Okay, first off, sorry for missing the rest of the rewrite, 
it's just been a hectic time for me.  But this one part in part ten 
kina grabbed my attention.
  Erica: Soooo....we're gonna MST it!
  Julia: Roll it!

[WH: Hmm, what about the part where Rei went beserk in chapter 9e? I 
figured that was something you don't usually see everyday. Especially 
after all of Tabris' prodding.]

On the outside of the city, a single figure sat on the grass and 
stared at the sky. Shinji did not know what to do about anything. He 
remembered the eleventh angel when Misato had asked them all if they 
wanted to write down wills. The only difference here was that he had >a 

much stronger feeling of doom than before.

     Julia: Feeling of doom?
     Erica: Stronger?
     Brian: Either WH has mutated into Anno-Baka or.....
     Ryouga: The world is a dark and lonely place
     Erica: Okay, who let the "Lost Boy" in?

[WH: Me? Mutate into Anno? Get real! And who invited you Pig-Boy?]

True, he had made up with Rei about Kaworu, but some things just >would 

not let him go and he continued to avoid her. Although he still 

remembered Kooriichi asking him to help Rei, it was now something he 
could not do. He put his face to his knees and shook his head. It was 
the same thing all over again. He was running away and there was 
nothing he would do about it. 

     Brian: And just when we thought Shinji was growing a backbone....
     Erica: You do have to admit, there is a certain kinda of charm to 
it, reminding us that this, unfortunealy, is still Eva.

[WH: Well, I kinda lost focus on things at about this time.]

     <Ryouga starts to glow>

[WH: {shakes his head}]

He turned at the sound of another pair of footsteps and saw Rei 
walking up to him, looking almost the exact way she did when he first 
saw her. Emotionless. 

    Brian: <nasal voice> Houston, we have a problem.
    Julia: Geez, talk about full circle.

[WH: Well, more like near the end of the circle, disguised as the 
beginning.]

"For all that I can remember, I had no ambitions whatsoever, other 
than doing what I was ordered to. Although you did not fare that >much 

better than I did, I found myself envious of your position. You >have 
much more than I will ever know. And many times I wished I were >in your 
place."

      All three: <facefault>    

[WH: He's not much I'm afraid, but it's more than enough for Rei.]
        

Shinji turned to her in surprise. She continued regardless. "Before I 
came to know you, I always wondered why everyone acted the way they 
did. How I was different from them in almost every respect. It is sad 
to say that I know why now. Even to be as pained in your heart as you 
were and are, I would give everything to know what it is like. To 
understand how the human heart works and goes.

    E and J: <sniff, sniff>

[WH: Took me a while to think out Rei's dialogue for this chapter.]

"Though now, things are much different than they were when I first 
recall. Meeting you brought so many things that I cannot understand 
at all. I now have that desire to know what it all means. Even 
Commander Ikari knows the changes that I have gone through. I have 
asked him about it on many occasions and he has not answered me, he 
tells me to find the answers for myself... but I am not sure how to >do 

that.

    Brian: Whoa, Gendou actually gave good advice.

[WH: Well, I, unlike most EVA fans, don't think that Gendou is 100% 
jerk... he's 75%.]

    <Ryouga glows even brighter>

[WH: What's your problem?]

"To put it simply Shinji-kun," she looked directly into his eyes, 
crawled forward, and took his hand in both hers. "Please... help me. >I 

want to understand what it all means, and somehow, I believe that >you 
are the one who can help me."

     All: 0_0!!!

[WH: That's what I hoped.]

Shinji looked down at his hands in Rei's, then he looked back up to 
her to see how her eyes were truly pleading for his help. Stammering 
he replied, "But... how can I help? I mean, if I can't even help 
myself, how can I hope to help anyone else?" Not being able to handle 
it, he turned away.

     Erica: Jeez, and I thought he was depressed eariler.
     Brian: Well, he did just loose his best friend.
     Julia: And how long did you cry at the aniversary of your 
hometown's destruction?
     Erica: <sweatdrop> Well...okay, I see your point.  Gomen, WH.

[WH: That's ok.]

    <Ryouga glows even brighter, causing sweatdrops to form on the 
reviewers heads [and a popped vein from WH.]>

She let go of his hands and looked down, "I have no answer for that. 
All I can say is that maybe you do know, but you do not at the 
moment." Shinji looked back to her. "Can you promise me something?" >He 

turned his head to her direction slightly as she continued.. >"Promise 
me that you will return from tomorrow. I do not care if I do >not, but 
please tell me you will."

     Erica: <sigh> Right back to where she started.
     Julia: It is kinda depressing, isn't it?

[WH: Well, that's always been a part of EVA, whether we like it or not.]

     Brian: And speaking of depressing....<points to Ryouga> I think we 
may have a problem here.

[WH: Hey Pig-boy, ever heard of prozac?]

Shinji was now beyond shock at her last statement. After all that has 
happened, she is ready to throw it all away? {It's because how bad 
you're treating her you dork! She had something with you and now with 
the way you are now, she's got nothing left anymore. She doesn't care 
if she lives now, just like when you first came. Hope you're happy.} >A 

faint voice said from the back of his head. 

     Erica: And the voice of reason *finally* speaks up!

[WH: His just took a while to come out.]

     Julia: I thought it was his libido?
     B and E: <facefault>
     Erica: Jules...you made a *hentai* joke???
     Julia: Was there anything wrong with that?
     Brian: Err....no, it was just so....unexpected. 

[WH: Well, if that's the case...{Pulls out Akane Tendou Hammerspace 
Mallet and crushes her.} THAT'S for all the times you whacked me in the 
MSTing of Crystal Knights!]
 

She stopped and turned to him as he said, "I... I promise and... I'm 
sorry. For everything I said." Hearing those words made a small smile 
appear on her face, she mouthed the word 'arigatou' back to him as >she 

continued back to her home. Seeing her smile, the same way she >did when 
he opened her entry plug at the incident with the fifth >angel, it made 
him feel a bit better to know that things were being >set right. 

    All three: <openly bawling>

[WH: {sweatdrops, pulls out several hankies and hands them to the 
reviewers.}]

Turning back to lay on the ground, he murmured, "You're such an 
idiot." He said to himself as he stared into the sky. Yet, that 
self-resentment soon vanished as he recalled her saying thank you and 
the thought that he was capable of giving something good to another. 
But he still felt like an idiot nonetheless. 

End of Chapter 10

    Erica: Well, that was unexpected.....

[WH: Well, that's what I was hoping...]

    Julia: SHIT!!! DUCK!!!!!
    <The three reviewers duck under their seats as Ryouga raises his 
hands to the ceiling.>

[WH: HEY! What are you crazy?!]

    Brian: Catty, emergency teleport, now!!
    <Ryouga dissappears, and reappears outside the theater...just in 
time.>
    Ryouga: PERFECT SHI SHI HOKODAN!!!!!!!
   <BOOM!>
  <Inside the theater:>   
   Erica: And getting back to the story.... 

[WH: Geez... moron.]

[Warhammer comes out again.]

WH: {Revision notes} I still wanted to keep the possible Touji/Asuka 
couple in this because I intend to continue their story in another > 

fic I will write once I get back. 

    Brian: And why are you leaving?  I don't think you quite explained 
that yet.

[WH: I'll explain why later today. I've been thinking pretty much on 
what to say. Needless to say, there will be much ranting.]

<Teknosnip Rei's Evolution paragraph>

    Erica: Ehh, you never know.
    Julia: And with that, we say.....
    Brian: Nice job WH.  Even better than before.

[WH: Thanks.]

    Erica: Too bad a certain review syndicate didn't agree.
    Brian: Oh?  You read that too?
    Erica: Yep.

[WH: *sniff* *sniff* That was painful. You can't believe all the spare 
time I put into that fic... only to have it demeaned because they were 
right!]

    Brian: Oh well.  Good job and keep writing.

[WH: Oh, I will.]

    Julia: MY BIKE!!!
    Erica: What???
    Julia: That #%$#@! &^^%% depression spewing %(%((&^*(? lost pig boy 
trashed my hoverbike!!!!

[WH: Just shows how useful pig boy really is.]

    Erica: <looking out> Ouch.  You want a ride?  We can stop at the 
beach? <wink>
   Julia: But the beach is.....oh...I get it.
   Brian: Guys, I'm still here?
   Erica: Easily fixed.  Catty?
   <Brian is teleported out...side.  The theater is, BTW, on the fifth 
floor>
   Brian: <reaching in Hammerspace> Good thing I packed that parachute. 
  Anyway, again, good job WH.
