Fanfiction is *illegal*, disclaimer or no.  Adding a disclaimer

provides

you no legal protection.  Palmer puts it very well:  we don't write
fanfiction, we commit fanfiction.

with people writing fanfiction? (I remember some interview or panel or
something she did that I read.) Does that make any difference to
anything?

nope still illegal.. just means SHE won't prosecute.. doesn't mean the other
holders of the rights to Ranma wouldn't :) but the better thing to mention
is why would they bother? i'd say it's a small market only the fact is no
money exchange hands.. it's all non-profit.. and going after them would be
cutting off their nose to spite their face, getting rid of some of the most
dedicated fans, those that REALLY can't get anime off their mind long enough
