Okay, Tony, you're kinda right when you say that some writers change far
too much the characterization of anime characters. I also had this
feeling, especially when I read that fic with NAbiki adddicting Ranma
and Akane to heroine for she could shoot porn pics and sell them to
Kuno. This is more delirium tremens than writing a fic.
Now, for those who deviate in a more "reasonable" way, like for Ukkyo's
self-sacrifice tendancies, think about this: since no two persons on
this damn world truly see colors exactly in the same way, hear sounds in
the same way and react in the same way to any show or reading, how on
hell do you want them to keep on being objective? There HAS to be
different opinions and different ways to express them.
Subjectivity and imagination are what makes every of us unique. Just
look at the fan-art around the net, about Eva or even Ranma, and you'll
see whadda mean.
Personnaly, I'm a hopeless romantic guy, but I still respect the right
that other people have to write things which doesn't match wit my own
way to see the world of animation.
Anyway, don't take this as an attack for it isn't, but tell me...
What makes you think you might understand those characters better than
other writers?
Subjectivty, pal, subjectivity...
