			    MIB: ANIME DIVISION
				Chapter 1

"FREEZE," Officer Tom Shepard belowed at the running man, "NYPD!
You're under arrest for disturbing the peace!"
The man ran down the street, ignoring the young police officers cry.
The only thought running in his mind was the fact that he had failed
his mission...
And this world would pay the price.
Tom had always been fast, faster then most normal people. If he had
not wanted to be a police officer so bad, he would have been a star
track athlete. So, as the other officers stopped pursuit, all of
them out of breath, Tom kept running. He managed to catch up to the
running man and forced him into a nearby wall. He shoved his badge
into the mans face and accented each world by pushing the man towards
the wall, "N... Y... P... D! I will kNock Your Punk-ass DOWN!!!"
The man aimed his hand at Tom and he ducked under the fist. A flash
of yellow errupted from the mans hand and flew off into the sky. As
he was ducking the blow, the mystery man did a backflip and went over
Tom. The man turned and started to run again. "Aww man," Tom
thought as he continued his chase, "Doesn't this guy get tired?"
He chased the man to a nearby highrise building and got the shock of
his life as the man leaped up to the third story and started to climb
up the wall. As Tom looked for a way into the building, he thought
that maybe he couldn't see the climbing gear the guy was using
because it was too dark. He had to justify it because it looked like
the guy had been flying.
Tom came to a glass door and when he found it locked, drew his
service revolver and shot out the glass. He ran into the building
and up the stairs.
The man reached the roof and floated above it a few seconds before
landing. He ran towards the fire escape and when he opened the door,
Tom was standing there with his revolver pointed at his face. "Hi,"
Tom said sarcasticaly, "How ya doing?"
The man backed off and then, in a fit of nervousness aimed his right
palm at Tom and shot a yellow fire ball at him. Tom was caught off
guard and his gun was smashed by the projectile. Tom looked on in
amazement and asked, "What the hell are you?"
The man, a last hope blooming, ran at Tom but Tom ducked the chop
aimed at him and with his right hand by his left pocket, sent his
hands at the stranger. He didn't know he was holding the club until
it hit the man in the face. The man staggered back and was near the
edge of the roof. "Hey," Tom yelled in warning, "Watch out for the
ledge!"
The man shook out his head and then, a small smile on his face, he
replied, "It doesn't matter. This world is history because I failed.
I'm just glad I won't have to live with the guilt."
With that, the man leaped off the roof, still smiling.
Later, at the thirty second police station...
"The man fired a yellow fire ball from his hands???" Tom's captain
asked with raised skeptical eyebrows, "and you hit him with a club
from your pocket???"
Tom nodded, annoyed that no one believed him. "And where was the
weapon he used to fire this fire ball," the captain continued, "and
why was it yellow instead of red? Not to mention that you have no
idea where this club of your disapeared to after you mashed the guy
in the face with it. Listen, I'll be back in a few minutes and when
I do, I want what really happened and not this early Halloween joke.
"
"But.. but sir," was all Tom could get out before the captain left.
A few seconds later, a man in a black buisness suit walked in and
said, "Hello... Mr. Tom Shepard."
The man walked across the room and disconected the camera in the
upper corner of the room. "I hear," the man continued, "that you had
a rather unusual night."
"Who the hell are you?" Tom asked, now even more annoyed then before.

"Agent Cee," the man replied, "Department Twenty-Five."
Cee looked Tom up and down. Tom was a man of average hight and
build, with short, wild black hair, brown eyes, which were slightly
larger then normal in size. A thought hit Agent Cee as he noticed
that but he dismissed it for the moment as he went back to reading.
It was at this time that Tom realized that Agent Cee had his report
of the nights events in his hands. Cee slowly leafed through the
report and then looked up as he said, "It was a ki ball not a fire
ball and you pulled out a mallet from Hammer Space not a club from
your pocket."
	"Huh?"
"What the guy threw at you earlier tonight was a ki ball and the
thing you used to clobber him with was a mallet you pulled out of a
place called Hammer Space."
"Oh," was all Tom could think of to say in reply.
"Could you come with me please? I need your help in clearing up a
few details."
	"What about my report?"
"Already taken care of. Please, come with me."
An hour later, outside a pawn shop...
The black sedan pulled to a stop by the curb and Agent Cee and Tom
stepped out. "Hey," Tom said, "I know this place. Don Picorants
shop. Nothing really interesting goes on here."
"Picorant?" Agent Cee asked with raised eyebrows, "He took the name
Picorant?!"
"What do you mean, 'took the name Picorant'?"
"You'll see. Let's go in. You first."
Tom sighed and walked in the door. Picorant was a tall, thin man,
with piercing green eyes and a shaved head. He looked up and said in
greeting, "Hello Officer Shepard. Got the money to pay for that
stereo you liked?"
"Wish I could say that's why I'm here," Tom replied, "but the way I
hear it, you can answer some questions about a man I was chasing
tonight."
It was at this point, as if on cue, Agent Cee walked in and said,
"Hi 'Picorant'."
Picorant groaned and said, "Cee. What do you want?"
"Listen. I'm looking for some straight answers to some simple
questions and I don't want an attitude okay?"
	"Depends on the questions."
Agent Cee sighed and pulled out a Molecule Disrupter gun. He aimed
the weapon at Picorants head and said, "I'm warning you. Promise to
play straight with me."
"I'd listen to him," Tom replied jokingly, not really expecting that
silly looking thing in Cee's hand to do anything, "this guy does not
look stable."
"Oh," Picorant began, "Now you can stuff your questions up your..."
ZAP!!! Cee fired the Disrupter and Picorants right arm
disintigrated. Tom pulled out his revolver and aimed it at Cee.
"Put your hands on your head," he ordered, "NOW!"
	"I warned him," Cee replied.
	"HANDS ON YOUR HEAD NOW!"
	"YOU warned him."
	"NOW!!!!"
	"You insensitive JACKASS," Picorant snarled.
Tom whirled, the tone suprising him more then anything else, and his
eyes went wide as "Picorant" shimmered and turned into a green, alien
being in a white cloack and turban. The being concentrated and a new
arm suddenly popped out from where the stump of his old one ended.
"Do you have ANY idea how much that stings?" "Picorant" asked Cee.
"Easy Piccolo," Agent Cee replied, "I just needed to make sure that
you wouldn't give us any grief... and I needed to prove to him that
I'm on the level. Our friend and I need a few questions answered."
Piccolo frowned and replied, "Very well."
"Could you make a small ki ball?"
Piccolo raised an eyebrow at the Agents request but complied. Cee
turned to Tom and asked, "Did the person who attacked you shoot
something that looked like that.
Tom nodded numbly. Cee then turned back to Piccolo as the Namekian
banished the ki ball and Cee asked, "Would there be a reason that
another Z warrior would be in this reality?"
Piccolo thought for a few seconds and then replied, "Maybe."
"Listen," Tom interjected as he started to shake off his shock, "he
said something about having failed and dooming the earth. Would
there be any reason he would say that?"
Piccolos frown deepened as he said, "Perhaps. It may have to do
with..."
Piccolo suddenly went wide eyed and hit a band on his wrist,
teleporting away. "What the..." Tom exclaimed.
Cee frowned. There were very few things that would make Piccolo do
what he had just done. He couldn't worry about that now though, he
had something else to take care of first. He walked out of the store,
Tom close behind him. "What the hell just happened?" Tom asked.
Cee reached into his pocket and pulled out his Neuralizer. He
adjusted the dial to a certain setting and then pointed it at Tom.
"Now what?" the confused NYPD officer complained.
"Now..." Cee replied and hit the button, "this."
	([{FLASH}])
Tom awoke with a large headache the next morning. "What the hell
did I drink last night?" he thought, "I know that after that crazy
shift, I needed something to drink... but I haven't gotten wasted
like that in a long time."
Suddenly, he noticed a card on his night table. He picked it up and
looked at it. The card read, <You might have what we need. Come to
the training seminar at 432 Machintosh Ave. Saturday at 2:00 PM and
show this card for access.>
"Did I try out for some kind of special department?" Tom thought,
"Can't remember ANYTHING from last night. Oh well, may as well check
it out. Let's see, it's Saturday... 9 o'clock. Guess I better get
ready."
Tom put the card back onto the nightstand and went to take a shower,
never noticing the insignia on the reverse side.
It was an image of black sunglasses and a large red A underneath
them.
The insignia of one of the worlds best kept secrets.
