Not necessarily. I highly doubt that love conquers all. I always try to
write that into my fics, and fromthe repsonses I've gotten, I think I've
been doing a good job so far. After all, nobody yells at you unless

Man, by nature is not a hateful being. Its just that people decide,
unknowing or not, to ignore that love, or transfer that to their children
instead.
I prefer to think of it as people loving to hate each other... Makes for
wonderfully motivating stories...
One tool I haven't seen used a lot is "true love". Are Akane and Ranma
each other's true love? Think a bit before you answer. I'm not sure
their relationship really qualifies in the traditional anime sense.
They fell in love, yes, but there was always an element of uncertainty,
a feeling their love could fall apart at any moment. They just don't
seem destined for each other in precisely the same way other famous
anime relationships are. (Note: Kinghts of the True Fiancee don't flame
me. This is in pursuit of a story idea.)
I think I have to agree. I'm not passing judgement because of personal
bias towards any one character, but I think that despite the fact that the
manga was worked to try to put Akane and Ranma together (4-ever as it
were), when actually looked at seriously, there's always some problem.
Granted, nobody ever is supposed to look at it seriously; but if that were
the case, then we wouldn't be having this discussion, ne?
It's only his immaturity. No one can blame him, though. He wasn't
experienced in recognizing the love of a woman, least of all appreciating
that and returning it with his own love. Much like Tenchi Masaki, and why
he himself has the same problem. He fails to be decisive, as much as Ranma
has been all throughout his life. (Ok, so in Shin TM he did fall in love,
but who wouldn't with Sakuya, right?)
Suppose Ranma or Akane's "True Love" did show up one day? Someone new
that they immediately felt they were destined for. It would be a new
variation on the old break-up theme, I think.

is, if you don't mind having gold that causes a whole host of
carcenomas... ^_- Nobody ever said reality was perfect, right?

I doubt that. I've read plenty of wonderfully dark novels where love
doesn't mean a thing. It's nice ot have, but it simply doesn't beat
"destiny" or whatever plotline the author has in stock for the
characters. I'm sure there are plenty of things that will stop love dead
in its tracks. I used eternal damnation in the innermost ring of Dante's
Inferno as one means of stopping love. I'm sure there are bound to be
others... ^_^

Mmm...to break-up Akane and Ranma, reasonably and completely...I doubt it.
Not me. ^_^;; Of course, just an opinion.
Not only will he/she not forget everything he or she had done for each
other, they respect each other too much, not like how Ranma sees his other
fiancee. [Insults doesn't really matter to each of them. The respect I
mean here is the same like you look up to your parents, that kind of love
and respect. No matter what they tell you, hurt you, and such...you'll
always be there...as much as Ranma has always been there for Akane, and
Akane for him.]
That's an interesting way of looking about it. I never really would have
considered it, and I don't think I ever would have. On the other hand, I
think I'm too far set in my own mode of thought to really take those
things into account anymore... ^_^;;
But a good point nonetheless. However, I'm sure there's bound to be an
argument against it somewhere. Pehaps just for the sake of being the
devil's advocate? ^_^
