Biles!...
This is a really good start, however, you probably don't need to explain
who people are, as anyone who is goingto read a Slayers fanfic probably
already knows who Lina, Gourry, Zelgadis, etc, are.

Nightman!...
I don't agree. I know that some of my friends, as well as myself, will
check out fics before the anime, just to get a feel for it. As long as
the intros aren't overly long, I think they're beneficial for that
aspect alone. In addition, if the author has a strong interpretation of
a particular character, this may be evident in such an intro as well.

Gaffney!...
I disagree. There are some of us who have never seen Slayers, and have no
desire to, but will read this solely for the author. An explanation would
be lovely.

That's basically what I tried to keep in mind in writing Reflect.
Most folks have not even seen tapes 1-4, the limited amount of stuff
available domestic, much less Slayers Special, Slayers Next, Slayers
Try... and so on. So, if you're going to fanfic a relatively popular
but still unknown to most series, character introductions are a must
and a half.  I hadn't thought of it before, but Nightman's got a point;
you also can get a good grip on my interpretation of these guys through
intros. Another good trick is to stick to characters which are in the
domestic releases, for the first episode. After this, Naga will be
introduced in #2, and Xelloss.. well, that is a secret. :)

Also, on the fine and well constructed it took me hours to do so go
look at it dammit Slayers Reflect webpage, I've posted a character
and cast information center. Has images, picked to relate to how
I interpret the characters, and one paragraph explaining any relevant
personality and background you'd need to know to be really comfy with
Slayers.

So, like, not to shoot you down repeatedly my main man John Biles, but
I think the people have, um, spoken or something. ^_^; By the way,
Paralell Lives rocks.

I'd be interested in hearing what people think of my policy of letting
folks visiting the webpage look at works in progress. Since I upload
pages I'm typing up every hour or so while I work (but make sure I
stick a colored disclaimer at the top of the page, to show how complete
or incomplete this part of the story is) it means seeing the writing
process, typos, rejected ideas, and so on. I don't think anybody was
reloading the pages last night when I was finishing up, but as my
pace slows down, this might be more evident... since the Slayers ML
refuses to allow messages greater than 15k, I'm probably going to stick
to writing in HTML first and foremost, and exporting a nifty text
edition when finished for the FFML, and much later (since I don't want
to get stuck with posting an obsolete copy) to Rec.Arts.Anime.Creative.
Opinyons?

BTW : Gaffney, I don't mind having a groupie, but don't go postal and
start stalking around my house with gun and camera, okay? ^_^;;
