Really? As I understand it, Genom practically owns the technology behind
the DD battlemover. Whether it's legal for them to manufacture it is a
separate issue, but Genom wouldn't have a use for it anyway, since they do
not run an army (besides the hordes of boomers). The KS equipment,
however, is based off of technology that Dr. Stingray concealed, and thus
 valuable.

I haven't watched Ep. 5 in a while, but as I understood it the DD was
developed seperatly from Genom proper, either by an independent company or a
Genom subsidiary that was semi-independent of the Tower. Therefor, Genom
wouldn't have the technology.

Wouldn't have a use for it? The thing would have mopped the floor with KS if
Sylvie hadn't intervened. That strikes me as damn useful.

Yeah, but I mean, just what on earth would they be able to use it as?
It's not like Genom couldn't take over the world, with the use of the OMS.
Guard duty seems a little extravagant, and would probably end up causing
major damage to the property it was trying to protect. Genom isn't
supposed to have berzerk boomers anyway, so using a Genom constructed DD
is a sure ticket to police investigation, and a media circus.

Think about it. The DD is basically a hyper-hard suit. Genom does not
employ a human army, so who's going to drive it? Quincy? Magidan(sp?)? A
boomer? Maybe the boomer, but if so, wouldn't it be wiser to design a
boomer with the same capabilities as the DD (and maybe minus the neutron
bomb)?

Can't control the ADP? How hard would it be to grease a few political
palms, and get the government to sell the evidence to Genom? Probably not
 too hard at all.

Not until after the trial. The suits are vital evidence, and this would be a
media circus. I'd like to see the government try to explain why they sold key
evidence to a corporation that is known to be hostile to the defense. I don't
care how much money you apply, the Diet isn't going to shoot itself in the
foot. Any member who authorized the sale would be voted out so fast his head
would spin.

Who said that the sale had to be made public? Just a few misplaced memos,
orders to flunkys, and firing a couple of clueless officers for allowing
the loss of valuable property, and you're all set. Not plausable? Take a
look at the kind of stuff that gets sold at US govt warehouse auctions
sometime. Seriously, would you believe...a Hokum (military attack
chopper)? I don't think that MegaTokyo is much better.

I still think I could make detective inside of six months. Considering the
mortality rates, you could get promoted rapidly if you stayed alive and had
some good busts.

However, no one's going to believe a rookie cop, unless he has proof.
 Good luck getting any.

Oh, lets see: Plant a bug on Nene, set a video cam outside Lady's 663 and wait
for the Knightwing to lift off, provide documentation to prove that none of
the people you're fingering have ever been seen in public during established
KS incidents... it wouldn't be that hard.

I guess you're right about the difficulties of proving the KS identities
through covert means...

Which lead to something even more profitable, blackmail! Hey, think about
it folks. There's been lots of talk about joining one side or another,
and the suggestion of selling out information was vetoed, since you'd have
to prove your credability to everyone else, and by that time, the series
would be over. (Sure, mister...Mason's still alive even after we spilled
his guts over the tower top. Tell us another one.)

But if I were Sylia, and someone sent a letter to all of the Knight Sabers
with a demand for 350 million yen (roughly 3.5 million dollars), or they'd
release the KS identities, I'd be plenty scared. Especially if it were a
SI character, where a background check is going to accomplish very little.
Don't know who this guy is, but he's smart enough to have found our
identities, and good enough with computers to hide his own.

How much would Genom pay to keep the secret of the OMS? Of course, I'll
be sure to avoid meeting with Quincy in person. ^_^ Assuming that I
could avoid recrimination, I'd be set. Of course, avoiding recrimination
is the whole trick, isn't it...

In any case, its been made clear that both sides have enough money that
an amount that one could ask would be pretty small compared to the total.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

*ahem*
