lots of guns.

And money. And influence. Don't forget, Genom builds all of those
boomers that have become a way of life in MegaTokyo. So yes, if they
really thought the ADP was worth anything besides target practice, they
would probably be in control of it by the end of the month.

I don't know. Anybody crazy enough to join ADP in the first place wouldn't
strike me as the type to sell out to Genom. They could exert more control at a
level above Chief Todo's, but they already do that.

I don't think either of us can win on this particular facet of the debate, so
it would be beter to drop it.

Really? As I understand it, Genom practically owns the technology behind
the DD battlemover. Whether it's legal for them to manufacture it is a
separate issue, but Genom wouldn't have a use for it anyway, since they do
not run an army (besides the hordes of boomers). The KS equipment,
however, is based off of technology that Dr. Stingray concealed, and thus
 valuable.

I haven't watched Ep. 5 in a while, but as I understood it the DD was
developed seperatly from Genom proper, either by an independent company or a
Genom subsidiary that was semi-independent of the Tower. Therefor, Genom
wouldn't have the technology.

Wouldn't have a use for it? The thing would have mopped the floor with KS if
Sylvie hadn't intervened. That strikes me as damn useful.

Can't control the ADP? How hard would it be to grease a few political
palms, and get the government to sell the evidence to Genom? Probably not
 too hard at all.

Not until after the trial. The suits are vital evidence, and this would be a
media circus. I'd like to see the government try to explain why they sold key
evidence to a corporation that is known to be hostile to the defense. I don't
care how much money you apply, the Diet isn't going to shoot itself in the
foot. Any member who authorized the sale would be voted out so fast his head
would spin.

When the trial is over, that's another matter. But that would likely take the
better part of a year, and until then the suits are sitting in ADP impound,
surrounded by hungry techs just itching to examine their secrets...

 > Plus, Leon goes on anti-Genom rampages all the time and he's still there.

Leon also lands in a lot of hot water. However, he usually turns out to
be right. I guess if you were self-inserted, you could also work with
your "hunches", but don't expect any promotions soon.

I still think I could make detective inside of six months. Considering the
mortality rates, you could get promoted rapidly if you stayed alive and had
some good busts.

However, no one's going to believe a rookie cop, unless he has proof.
 Good luck getting any.

Oh, lets see: Plant a bug on Nene, set a video cam outside Lady's 663 and wait
for the Knightwing to lift off, provide documentation to prove that none of
the people you're fingering have ever been seen in public during established
KS incidents... it wouldn't be that hard.

Also, Leon would probably look over your data, and tell the cheif that
is's all wrong (he knows about Priss, don't forget). Who will they
 believe?

The guy with the video, audio, and documentary evidence, or the maverick with
known KS sympathies?
