I disagree...Genom OWNS the AD Police...Why do you think Leon keeps getting
the 'Evil Eye' from the guys upstairs at HQ?
Why do you think that Genom gets away with so much?
I disagree. Genom does not own the ADP; it owns the civilian government the
ADP answers to. Chief Todo is the ADP top dog, and he sympathizes with Leon.
Even the new chief from Crash (the only part of Crash I didn't like) seemed
more like just a spineless bureaucrat rather than a Genom junkie.
And Genom gets away with so much because it has good cover stories and lots of
guns.
Two problems, and you wouldn't win in either of them.
As said, Genom owns ADP, meaning you would have to fight "upstairs" to try
to do anything about them. You wouldn't get a chance to take the suits
apart because they'd be almost immediately "appropriated" by Genom. You
most certainly would not be allowed to do anything anti-Genom - at least
nothing that stands the slightest chance of succeeding.
I don't think so. As I stated before, I've counted at least four seperate fics
where Leon hauls the DD out of ADP storage and goes nuts. If Genom could
appropriate anything from ADP, they would have gone for that.
Plus, Leon goes on anti-Genom rampages all the time and he's still there.
Second, you do something to turn the Knight Sabers in, you will most likely
find yourself the victim of a little "accident", perhaps friendly fire, the
next time you set foot on the street. The officers of the ADP know who is
responsible for at least trying to keep their casualty toll down, and it
isn't the ADP higher-ups. Irregardless of you possibly following orders
(*have* we seen either of the Chief's in Crisis/Crash order the KS brought
in?), you've just greatly reduced their chances of survival in what will be
seen as a selfish bid to get promoted. Not a good position to find yourself
in.
Nuh-uh. You could play the kind of stiff, unbending, letter-of-the-law Javert-
esque type of cop who wouldn't hesitate to bust the KS for their illegal
activites. Technichally, they could be brought up on murder charges for the
Mason incident. You wouldn't have very many friends, and people would hate
your attitude, but they couldn't argue with your motives.
Plus, you'd be extremely high-profile afterwards. If you were to meet with a
mysterious 'accident', there would be an investigation. Also, until you
started further anti-Genom (well, anti-lawbreaking, which amounts to the same
thing) activities, the corporation would like you.
Of the three choices (Genom, KS, ADP) I'd rate ADP number two behind KS but
ahead of Genom. And that's only because it's the only one where you don't have
to break the law OR do evil stuff.
