Needless to say, its harder to find advantages of either one, both of
them are dangerous occupations. Me, myself, I'd avoid Genom like the
black plague, but honestly I dont think I could actually cut it in the
KS. Sure trashing boomers would be cool, but the thought that one
mistake could kill either A) me, B) a Knight Saber or C) quite a few
innocents lives would be something very hard to deal with. I'd probably
play it safe it stick it to genom in a different manner.

What view I havent seen played yet is the SI being a third-party, controlling the scene. I mean, think about this:

1) you know EVERYTHING that is suppose to happen in this universe (you're suppose to be an otaku, right? :)
2) Sylia/KS would pay you for that knowledge
3) Genom would pay you for that knowledge
4) LOTS of people would pay you for that knowledge
5) What's to say that you sell them the 'correct' knowledge?

Say, for instance, you set up a shop in the Canyons, and make it small time selling information. you drop a few notes here and there to get people's attention (discretely, various remote terminals and such, non-traceable). You begin to plant info into the two sides. The info you provide at first is on target, and is very accurate (making your reliable and a good source). now you begin to plant the false information to manipulate the scene. Imagine what could be done to the BGC world with the knowledge that you have. And you have no direct influence over the world, other than the 'information' that you pass.

Rich, wealthy, powerful, and nobody knows who you are. Now that is a job I could go for. :)
