It isn't really very different, is it? Self insert mysteriously appears
and is immediately taken into the bosom of the Knight Sabers. The main
distinctive feature is the character's snappy dialogue ala Crimson
Shieldsman.
Unfortunately, let's be honest. The intro HAS to be remarkably similar,
because in a real SI, the most logical thing for Sylia to do would be a
bullet to the temple. At least Boss was there to give me a decent
reference.
As for the dialogue being similar, I plead guilty. When I'm under stress,
I become a smart aleck. Crimson represented that facet of me in many
ways, except he was a smart aleck ALL the time...well, and the singing
too, but he was better at it than me. ^_^
Jeanne Hedge recently made me a challenge to make God's Toy an interesting
an entertaining fiction, without falling into all of the major traps of
a BGC SI in the later parts of the fic. I took that challenge, and I
expect most of you will be pleasantly suprised.
