A Second Too Late
	Part 5

	Her eyes opened for a brief second, before being blinded by the few beams
of light sneaking through the spaces between the blinds.  Akane turned away
from the light, and found herself facing Ranma.  A bit startled, she moved
away, before remembering just how close they now were.  Nuzzling up to his
cheek, Akane was elated when he responded by wrapping his arm around her.
Why she was so happy about it she didn't know, after all, she already had
proof of his love.  Or did she?  Unsure of herself she shook Ranma awake.

	"Ranma? You awake?"
	".. mmmuh?.. I am now.. what is it Akane?"
	"Do you love me?"
	Ranma, completely awake, sat up and stared at her in shock.
	"Wh.. What??"
	"Do you love me?"
	"Akane, what kinda question is that?"
	"Ranma no baka.. just answer me.. I need to know."
	"I thought you already knew, I wouldn't have done what we did if I didn't"
	"How many tenses was that?"
	"That's not important Akane... What's important is.. Yes I love you."

	Akane breathed in a huge sigh of relief as she snuggled back into Ranma's arms.

	"I wish we could be like this forever.." Akane said dreamily.
	"Like what?"
	"Just sitting like this, close to each other, the way we are. Forever."
	"Maybe one day we could, but now.."
	"I know.. school and the Dojo.
	"We are still engaged.. Isn't that sort of a promise of forever?"
	"I've really missed you Ranma.."
	"Me too Akane.. We do have all weekend you know..."
	"It's only saturday.. I don't have to be back till monday afternoon.."
	"I guess we should make the most of the time we have.."		
	"So you wanna finish watching the movie? We did miss most of it."
	"Sure..."

	"Moshi Moshi?"
	"Hey Ranma! Ummm.. I kinda... umm.."
	"What Ryouga?"
	"I'm lost.."
	"Again?!?!?"
	"Hey It's not my fault!!! I followed the directions exactly! it's just the
road went the wrong way.."
	"Where are you?"
	"I'm ... umm.. is that the Eiffel Tower? .. no wait.. Tokyo somewhere...
just one second Ranma.."
	After a few minutes of waiting, Ranma was about to give up; thinking Ryouga
had lost the phone booth.  Luckily Ryouga returned to the phone just as
Ranma's patience nearly ran out.
	"I just spoke to Mr.Tendo .. I'm right outside the dojo.. Ranma, can you
come get me? I kinda need to get somewhere."
	"I dunno.. Akane's here and.."
	"You dog! Way to go! Took you long enough!"
	"Shut up, Ryouga."
	"Seriously though.. I need to meet Akari downtown and.."
	"Uhhh.. Alright... When are you supposed to meet her?"
	"Umm.. Hang on," Silence. "Today."
	"When today?"
	"About 2.."
	"BAKA!  THAT ONLY LEAVES US WITH HALF AN HOUR!! DON'T MOVE.. I'll be there
soon.."

	Ranma entered the kitchen where Akane was busily making lunch.  
	"Yeah I heard Ranma.. You have to go help Ryouga, just hurry it up. You
don't want your lunch to get cold."
	"Ok.. I shouldn't be too long," Ranma called as he rushed out the door.

	
	Ryouga smiled as his childhood enemy and longtime friend rushed to his side.
	"How's it going Ranma?"
	"Not bad.. Where are you meeting her anyways?"
	"At the All-Night Inn..."
	"What is that, a love motel?"
	"Umm.. Yeah."
	"Ryouga no hentai.... Is that all you ever think about?"
	"Well... I guess so."
	Ranma grabbed Ryouga by the arm, leading him in the right direction, all
along knowing that if he let go Ryouga could end up in Siberia.
	"How long have you and umm.. Akari.. been.. you know.."
	"Screwing? since the day we met."
	"NANI!?!!? Then why were you still after Akane!?"
	"Akari wanted a threesome,"  Ryouga answered nonchalantly.


	Ranma stormed into his house, swearing under his breath, but cooled down
considerably when Akane walked out of the kitchen, a smile on her face and
more importantly, to Ranma anyways,  lunch on the table.  Taking his place
at the table, Ranma spared no time in digging into his meal.

	"So Ranma, what do you want to do tonight?"
	"Umm.." Ranma replied between mouthfuls. "We could always go get another
movie."
	"So we can get Fudoh tonight?"
	"Nah.. umm.. how bout something more .. you know.."
	"Romantic?"
	"I meant an action film... but if that's what you want..."
	"I guess we could always get a Jet Li movie..."
	After hearing Akane's answer, Ranma tried very hard, but failed, to hide
his contentment. 
	"Although maybe something that we didn't have to pay as much attention to..."
	Once again a smile found it's way to Ranma's face.
	"We could always forget about a movie and just stay in.. and.. umm.. watch
tv.."
	Akane moved up to Ranma, kissing his neck, and playfully whispered into his
ear, "Ranma no Hentai."

	"Ohhh.. RANMA!!!.. oohhhh..."
	<DING DONG>
	"Ah shit... maybe they'll go away.."
	"Mmmmm.. Akane.... mmmmmmm..."

	"Damn it.. Ranma go answer the door.."
	Ranma grabbed his shirt and boxers, putting them on on the fly, although
not quite the right way, and ran to the door.
	"Konichiwa, Ranma-san!" Akari said, smiling as he openeed the door, "We're
here... ohh.. " A sweat drop apeared on teh back of Akari's head, "Gomen...
I didn't know you two were.. occupied."
	"Don't worry about it," Ranma answered, nervously adjusting his shirt.
	"Ryouga and I.. umm.. Ryouga?" Akari looked around, unable to find him.
	They walked to the edge of the street, finding Ryouga standing on the other
side of a bush, looking very lost.  As Ranma and Akari took him by arm and
led him towards the house, the bush decided to be on it's way.
	"So why'd you two stop by?"
	"Ranma?" Ryouga questioned, "You invited us for supper.."
	"I DID?!?! ... Nani? .. Oh shit.. I did.."
	"Well we could always go.." Akari offered.
	"No No.. Akane was busy in the kitchen anyways.  Won't you come in?"
	"Hey Ranma!? You coming back? Who was at the door?" Akane called as she
walked out of the kitchen, clad only in a robe, opened in the front.
	"Oh hi Akane!" Ryouga managed, before noticing her state of undress,
leaving him with a lecherous grin.
	"Shit Ranma! Why didn't you tell me we had company?" Akane raised her arm
to hit him, but that only allowed her robe to fall completely open.
Realizing this, Akane quickly clothed herself as much as possible and ran
back into the kitchen.
	"Ryouga no Baka!" Akari said, slapping him lightly upside the head.
"Behave," she whispered.
	

	"So Akane.. How was he?"
	Akane blushed for a moment before turning to Akari, "Oh Akari! It was so
perfect! It was everything I thought it would be.  I didn't know if he
wanted me.. but I guess I know now.."
	"I always wondered why you two never got together.. I saw how you two
looked at each other, but then.."
	"I don't want to talk about it. That was the past, this is now.. And I want
it to stay like this forever."
	"Nothing lasts forever Akane, nothing.  Unless you're always willing to
forgive, which is why me and Ryouga are still together.."
	"I couldn't picture either of you with anyone else, I mean.. I never see
Ryouga looking at any other woman.."
	"Nani?! Akane.. you do know that Ryouga used to love you, right?"
	"He did? I never knew... But why didn't he say anything?"
	"You know Ryouga.. he has trouble with those things.... talking isn't his
strong point," Akari flashed Akane a grin before continuing, "He's much
better at .. more physical things."
	Akane's blush returned and deepened as Akari continued, "The first time we
were together, he called your name.. "
	"Could we change the subject, Akari?"
	"He even went so far as to sugest a threesome.."
	"That's enough already!"
	"Sorry Akane.. I guess we should get started on dinner."

	
	"Ranma! Ryouga! Dinner!" Akane called, as Akari set the places at the
table.  Sitting across from Akari, Akane waited patiently for the two men.
A minute later they appeared, Ryouga with a fat lip, Ranma sporting a black eye.
	"You could have at least cleaned yourselves up after your match." Akari
scolded.
	"Can't talk. Eating." Ranma and Ryouga said in unision, taking their places
as well as their food.
 	As the evening went on, they all reminised about old times, catchingup on
current events in each others lives, and generally having a good time.  Time
passed, Ryouga and Akari decided it was time they were heading back.  After
they left, Akane turned to Ranma, "It was niec seeing them again.."
	"Yeah, sure was, " Ranma ywaned. "They were right, it is getting late, I'm
going to be hitting the sack."
	"Ranma...?"
	"Yeah Akane?"
	"Do you.. want.. to watch a bit of TV first?"
	"...Ok."

face.  Realizing she was lying in Ranma's arms, both of them covered only by
the blanket they were sharing, Akane shook him awake.
	"Wha? Akane? Again? You know I love you.. now let me sleep."
	"Ranma wake up!" Nodoka ordered.
	"Mom! But.. But.. But... you werent supposed to.. Dad?!?"
	Genma-panda bradished a sign, 'Way to go, Boy!!!'
	"Shut up, Pop!"

Sorry it took so long for this part.. but.. we're lazy :)
part 6 should be out soon.. and will be the final part, otherwise we'll lose
control of our urges to make this into a lemon... as well as our main plot..
