It was late when Kaji entered the diner. His contact apparently had been waiting for some time. "Kaji! You look like death warmed over." exclaimed the contact. Kaji slid into the opposite side of the booth where the contact had been sitting. "I wish." he said, staring at the table. The contact looked quizzically at Kaji and replied, "What do you have to report?" "I have to speak with Kihle." "What? You know that he only speaks when he wants to."replied the contact, visibly shocked. "The.... information I have is too sensitive to send by normal channels." "Are you saying...." Kaji looked up. "I'm saying that what I have to say is for Kihle only." The contact could see the deep, dark circles under Kaji's eyes. "I'll.... see what I can do." Hours later, a blindfolded Kaji was brought before SEELE's secret chambers. The guards exchanged passwords and the doors opened. Kaji was led in and his blindfold removed. Before him was a long table in a darkened chamber. At the end of the table sat Kihle. Kaji could tell that Kihle was not pleased. "Well, Kaji. What is so important that you must present your information to in person?" Kaji shivered nervously. "It's about Ikari." "What has he done?" Kaji's head jerked about nervously. "It all started early yesterday, when I was Investigating the Central Dogma..... It was getting late, and there were only a few more shafts to investigate in the Dogma. Stopping for a minute to catch my breath, I heard approaching footfalls. Hiding, I waited and when the sounds stopped. Taking a chance, I looked up and saw Ikari slipping into one of the shafts that I had not yet gone into. A few minutes passed, and I got up out of the shaft I was in, and went over to the shaft that Ikari had descended into. Entering it, I saw that it ran for several miles downward, and at its end, a circular door awaited me. Opening it, I found that it opened into a large cavern. Walking into the cavern, I.... saw things dancing a depraved dance before a hideous, black- winged statue. Off to one side, I saw a dark, murky pool, which is where I saw Ikari talking to one of those.... things. "Greetingsss, Ikari." spake the thing in a hideous, inhuman voice. "I trusst things are well on your end?" "Yes, things are well, will Great Cthulhu rise soon?" replied Ikari. "The Great One will awaken in one week, as you humans measure time. Ia! Ia Cthulhu Ftaugn!" "Ftaugn Cthulhu Ftaugn!" replied Ikari. Hiding, I waited until Ikari had left before ascending to the surface. When I made it back into the Central Dogma, I quickly made arrangements to speak with our go-between, and here I am. Kihle looked at Kaji sternly for a moment. "Is that all?' Kaji laughed madly and said nothing at all. The guards looked him over and said, "Either he's wiped his mind, or he's gone totally insane, sir" in reply to Kihle's unspoken query. "Take him away." "Should we kill him?" asked a guard. "No. He's done his work well. Besides, he's not in a condition to something about this, gentlemen. Leave him in the usual place. That is all." The guards left, taking Kaji with them. Kihle stood up and left the room. After walking through a series of passages, he entered a hidden chamber. Inside, an insect-like fungus stood waiting, flashing colors lighting up its human brain-like head. The thing turned and spoke in a hideous, clicking approximation of human speech. "How goes the plan, Kihle?" "Not so good. Ikari is league with the Deep Ones. They plan to raise Cthulhu before the final sacrifices can be performed." "That would change everything. Something -will- be done about this. Nothing must interfere with our plan to release Yog-Sothoth into this world."replied the creature, shuddering with rage. "Ikari will be dealt with. The Third Impact will occur, allowing Yog- Sothoth to enter this reality. You can count on that, my Mi-go friend." The End...... Or is it? Ash: It's amazing what comes up while trying to plan a fic. This twisted Idea came about during my research for a Sailor Moon story that is still in the plotting stages. It's amazing that certain anime series fit in so well with the Cthulhu mythos. Hell, someone could write a Ranma story about Taro turning into a deep one because the drowned octopus spring was really a drowned Deep One spring. Maybe now I can get back to my other fics now. --====================987654321_0==_ Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
